Tasher
Some of the fans on Stillers.com are actually rooting for a top 10 pick now.Well, so far, so good! MacD BengalFan
How did the Steelers lose to this Raiders team I am watching right now? This is the worst offensive team I have seen in years.I am not sure if you saw it but the Raiders defense returned 2 Big Ben passes for touchdowns. Plus the total offense for the Raiders against the Steelers was 98 yards. I think Big Ben's true QB'ing abilities are starting to surface. dez0923
Nope, we won't make the playoffs. . but Cincy is on life support now. . .and with San Diego and New Orleans being the next two games. . .your season could be over within the next two weeks. Only not in the way you think. Ben threw for 300 yards in that game. Then against Denver, he threw for 433. 2 weeks ago in Atlanta, Ben was also on pace for 400+ yards passing. Yeah he's thrown alot of picks, but that's part of the process of transforming from a 20-25 pass per game QB to a 30+ pass per game QB. Yeah he's thrown alot of picks, but that's part of the process of transforming from a 20-25 pass per game QB to a 30+ pass per game QB.... and he continues to be a LOSING QB when he throws over 25 times. He has a very bad losing record in such games. Care to look at other 'top' QBs in such games? Brady, Manning, Palmer? All have decidely winning records. Goes to show that you can easily have a QB that throws for 300+ yards when the defense is throwing 8 in the box, but the good ones will find a way to win and not keep throwing horrible picks on their own side of the field. They all throw such picks from time to time, but the good ones can throw a lot, minimizing the mistakes. Difference is simple ... winning vs. losing. Cracks me up that a fan of the Steelers (who usually always throw winning vs. losing in our faces) is now turning to stats and ignoring losses. Now that there is funny. Cracks me up that a fan of the Steelers (who usually always throw winning vs. losing in our faces) is now turning to stats and ignoring losses. Now that there is funny. What, did you not see where I said "part of the process of transforming"? Did I, at any point, declare Ben to be a QB who could successfully throw the ball 30+ times? Did I say he had mastered that, or had completed the process? No. That's what "part of the process" means. It implies that he's IN the process, but hasn't FINISHED the process. And as for wins and losses, at this point, does it matter? We're probably not going to make the playoffs unless the Ravens totally collapse, so at this point you see what your players can do, and use this time to start the process of improving the team for next year. Part of that involves looking at your QB and seeing if he had complete the transformation to a QB who can throw 30+ times successfully.BTW, he just threw 28 times and we won. Not quite 30, but getting close.
BengalByTheBay
BTW, he just threw 28 times and we won. Not quite 30, but getting close. Perhaps, but since the Saints had 3 turnovers, you didn't really win the game -- they lost it. Just ask SOU, if you have more turnovers and lose the game it doesn't count. The one that sticks out to me is the last one, where Tyrone Carter just gave up his body to knock the ball loose with a big hit. That one isn't the Saint's guy's fault, it was Carter. Now, being an idiot and not concentrating on catching a punt, that's stupid. Holding the ball away from your body and not even thinking about protecting it (Cedrick Wilson), is also stupid. Those are the kinds of turnovers the Steelers have been commiting that have been killing us all year. There's a difference between giveaways and takeaways. I'd have to look at the other Saints' turnovers again to determine which one they are, but I know that last one was a takeaway, and most of the Steelers' turnovers this year have been giveaways.Although I really am glad we finally won the turnover battle, and for once our superior offensive numbers weren't put to waste by stupid mistakes.
