Big Ben crying about his hit

How does one taunt someone who is knocked unconscious, no less face down on the turf?

Apparently Ben can see out the back of his head, through his helmet, and can see the Atlanta players taunting him.

Oh and taunting? How about this one. It was the celebrations of three defensive players all meeting simultaneously at the source that they all go after, the opposing QB.

Wow. Ben sure does talk and whine a lot about the hits he takes....

You know maybe it wasn't Ben who heard the guy say this, maybe it was the offensive lineman or one of the Backs. If someone said this I'm sure it wasn't just heard right near Ben. Ben is just the one who made it public. I believe that it was said, why would he make that up? It's part of football though, so he shouldn't be acting like a big baby...

Am I the only one who sees some incredible irony that a Steeler player is bothered that another player might have taunted him after a big hit?

Exactly! Which makes it all the better to laugh in all of their faces. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Nope, Ben is the player who claims that he was being taunted.

"The last thing I remember is throwing to Hines and I tried to duck out of it, and as I tried to duck out of it I remember getting hit in the chin -- it felt like I busted my whole jaw or something. One of their players said something to me, and that's the last thing I remember." --- Ben Roethlisberger

If you watch the film you'll see that after the hit is made Chauncey Davis immediately turns and looks downfield. He says nothing to anyone and appears to wait until the pass falls incomplete before celebrating....moving away from Roethlisberger with every step he takes.

Ed Hartwell was the Falcon who crashed into Biggest Ben's legs and rises from the ground with his back to Roethlisberger, but looking downfield just as Davis was. He too says nothing to anyone until the pass falls incomplete downfield.

DE Patrick Kerney hit Ben from behind and was knocked backward by Roethlisberger's contact with Chauncey Davis. Kerney rises slower than the others, and towards Ben, but appears to say nothing to anyone.

As for Roethlisberger, he lies motionless on the ground during this entire time...either feigning unconciousness or knocked cold and unable to hear anything at all. Call it either way and he still ends up lying about something...as is his habit.

He declined to identify the player who talked about the facial injuries the quarterback received during his June motorcycle crash but said: "I'll remember his number."

First of all, I would hope that they weren't intentionally trying to hurt anyone. But every play could be your last so it goes with the territory. I do think it's a little humorous to see the Iron Nation's reaction though. I guess it's OK for Chad to get jacked up and get a bunch of stitches in his chin but somehow Ben is off limits. And what is the difference between the out-loud talking and taunting that goes on with guys like Joey Porter and Barry Foote and a comment some guy supposedly whispered in Ben's ear after the play when he was unconcious?

As for his above statement after the game, I wonder what he plans to do to that guy since he's going to remember his number?

If I was that guy I wouldn't worry, I heard Big ben was dyslexic, so he'll get the number backwards anyways :sure:

People want to compare this to Kimo? Are you serious? Didn't Kimo play for the Bengals? You should know he's a nice guy. But fine, we'll compare the situations.

1. Kimo falls down, and grabs Palmer's leg in an instinctive attempt to tackle him. Palmer goes down, his offensive linemen look back and see him on the ground in pain, and just turn around and walk away. Kimo gets up, sees Palmer, goes over to see if he's ok, hit's his fist into his other hand in an "oh s**t, what just happened?" kind of expression, and waves medical personnell over.

2. 3 guys simultaneously rape Ben, with one of them saying something about wanting to hit Ben in his surgically repaired face, and then doing so.

And I'm supposed to believe that it's equally likely that they were both intentional? Please. One guy acted with class, showing it was an accident, and the other guy taunted a guy with a head injury. Where's the part where they're the same?

This is exactly what I just saw watching Game of the Week. I don't think anyone said anything to him, at least after the sack. Looks like Stark would have heard it if anything was said, he was right beside of Ben. Ben looks to be lying or one of the birds flying around his head said it and he thought it was a Falcon.

And most of your argument is based upon the testimony of Benji? Please. With the history of his Huckleberry Finn stories, I'd think you'd be more careful in using his "recollection" as basis for an argument. I wouldn't.

So, Kimo flexing his biceps and kissing them to the crowd is an example of what a nice guy would do, huh  You can explain it all you want, you should know you're not getting any sympathy here, just not gonna happen.

It seems to me Steeler fans have a habit of going ballistic when something bad happens to them, and justifying the same thing as OK when it happens FOR them.

And every week it's something different with him. He's worse than a high school prom queen when it comes to drama

I just watched the Game of the Week and it's amazing what you do and don't hear. You do hear the sounds of players grunting, the popping of pads, the sound of feet tearing at the turf, and the sound of Ben's body crashing into the ground after being hit.

What you don't hear is anyone saying anything.

You don't hear cheering as the play isn't over yet, and you don't hear smack talk. Nobody says anything as ben lays face down on the ground....presumably feigning unconciousness just as a young boy might do when his mom checks on him, in his bedroom, just before kissing him on the forehead and then turning out the lights.

"Good night, little drama queen."

Thanks HOF, I got a good laugh out of that one.

What are you talking about? He never flexed his biceps or kissed them after that play. If anything (and EVERY replay that shows more than 2 seconds after Palmer goes down shows this), he just looked over at Palmer, had kind of a grimace on his face, and punched his fist into his hand as if to say "oh s**t". Then he waves towards the Bengals sideline (where their medical personell are), and points to Palmer.

Damn, he's such an evil, classless bastard isn't he?

Do you really believe that:

1. Big Ben actually heard anything with his face in the dirt, his eyes closed and ears ringing. I don't.

2. That 3 guys simultaneously raped Big Ben on national TV? The only thing I saw was his bell getting chimed by 3 pass rushers that were doing thier jobs!

One guy may have acted with class as you assert, but I think he was covering up what he truly wanted to do. And what evidence do you have the Big Ben was taunted as he asserts. He couldn't remember what day it was.
