HoosierCat
Happened to glance over the quality wins numbers out at coldhardfootballfacts.com today (here: http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com/Artic...&Category=2 ). For those who dont know its just a record of how teams have done against teams with a winning record. And the AFC North stands out as particularly pathetic in that regard:AFCE: 2 for 9 .222AFCN: 1 for 11 .090AFCS: 3 for 10 .300AFCW: 2 for 9 .222NFCE: 4 for 13 .307NFCN: 3 for 12 .250NFCS: 6 for 15 .400NFCW: 4 for 12 .300Wow. Weren't we supposed to be the toughest division in football or something like that?Still anybody's division...tho right now I wouldn't count on any AFCN team going very far in the playoffs... bengalboomer7
That one quality win has to be by the ravens. We certainly haven't beaten any teams with a winning record, and I don't think Pitt has either(unless they count our defeat of Pitt as a quality win?) And it's a stat that I don't think means much. Thinking Tampa can say they have one Just win.As for the playoffs, you might have said the same thing last year at this time. Thinking Tampa can say they have one Just win.As for the playoffs, you might have said the same thing last year at this time.I have not heard anyone talk about the AFC North as the TOUGHEST DIVISION. That has been reserved for the NFC East, NFC South and AFC West. Since we play 2 of those 3 divisions, that makes our schedule simply brutal.Obviously we are in a pretty tough division, with the defending Super Bowl Champions, another team as defending Division Champion and a (vastly?) improved club that has restored its defense and improved its offense. But I would have to argue that going up against the teams in our division, AFC West and NFC South, which are all very physical, week after week after week is absolutely going to exact a toll on your football team. There are virtually NO easy weeks to recover (Oakland and maybe Cleveland). But even Cleveland is a physical team that plays pretty good defense. And with our performance last year, teams are going to get up for us and be ready to play. Maybe not like teams get up to play the defending SB Champs, but everyone saw us light it up last year and they know that they have to play great football to beat us. So we are going to get every team's very best shot.Having said that, 9-7 or 10-6 will win this division.
