johnstownsteel
Isn't it?At times throughout these first 6 weeks of the season, I've heard Bengal and Steeler fans alike declaring that the season is a wash and that the sky is falling when talking about their favorite team. Looking back.. before the season even got underway, didn't many of us predict that this was pretty much how the season was going to unfold? Condsidering the strength of the competition in the "north" and our killer schedules, I'd say the season is right on par. Getting back to preseason expectations, many even thought that a 10-6/9-7 record would be good enough to win it the "north". Has anything really changed? Looking things over, I'd say not really.Although many of us are disappointed and expected greater things, there really is alot to be encouraged about. I ask you this, isn't it better that these little disappointments are happening early in the season rather than during that stretch run to the playoffs? Even though none of our teams are considered amoung the "powers" of the NFL, I'm standing firm in my beliefs that this years AFC representitive in the Super Bowl will come from the "north". Just like I have all along.

But we reserve the right to cry, whine, wail, nash teeth and generally behave despicably just for the sheer enjoyment of it after a loss, just like everybody else is entitled to. We are and we want to make sure that everyone else knows that!

We are and we want to make sure that everyone else knows that! Of course and God knows I've done my fair share of complaining. I was just thinking, everything thing that has gone down up to this point in the year doesn't change the fact that us fans pretty much expected a knock-down drag-out season. I for one almost forgot about that.

Stripes
I am starting to agree that the North will be won with a mediocre win/loss record, contrary to my expectations in the offseason. I don't see a Superbowl team here though. The Raven's can't score, the Bengals can't stop the run, and the Steelers look inconsistent on both sides. walzav29
It's starting to look like the schedule makers knew more than us when they scheduled the Dec. 31st game. I think the Ravens suck. Their offense isn't any good. It's going to be between the Steelers and the Bengals in the thrilla in manilla.

Yea, but like I said, better for these things to happen now than later on. Same thing happened last year during the Steelers "skid". You'll see, it will be the tale of two seasons when all is said and done. Question is, which team gets healthy and peaks at the right time? It's starting to look like the schedule makers knew more than us when they scheduled the Dec. 31st game. I think the Ravens suck. I don't see a Superbowl team here though.Same thing I felt last year during the reg. season. After all was said and done though, I felt the north had the two best teams in the league.
