I don't get why there isn't a backup left tackle. It doesn't seem to make sense to have guys shuffling all over the place. It is irritating.

I think Koostra is the backup at RT. According to bengals.com Whitworth is the backup for Levi at RT. http://www.bengals.com/depth_chart/index.asp

Earlier this year I think they put Steinbach at LT when Levi was hurt. I guess they slid Whitworth to LT and put Steinbach back at guard once Levi went out and Ghiaciuc went in yesterday.

The problem you have is when one guy is both the 3rd best guard and tackle on the team. If you have to plug him in at G, but then the T gets hurt, there's no way you're putting in the 3rd string guy at LT. You move the good backup to the position of greatest need. They want to have the best guys out there, and that requires shuffling.

We're actually lucky to have a few OLs who can play multiple positions.

Yeah, I believe he is good enough to come in now that he's had two years of sitting on the bench and practicing. Put him in Levi's place, put Steinback at center, and Whitworth in Steinback's place at guard. I think it would work!
