Sportsdoc
I thought Joseph and Whit looked fine (please, let Breshnahan know that Tory James refuses to tackle). Could not tell what PEko did from the sidelines. I suspect Brooks was out of place a lot as we gave up a lot of yardage inside.....................but he tried and when he hit it, was hard
aaronburr
Considering the circumstances, I think they did well. How many rookies could start at left guard and move to left tackle mid-game. And Joseph looked sharper than Tory --- I expect him to start within a few weeks. schweinhart
I thought the rooks played great. Brooks got pinned behind the line on a run blitz that sprang Caddy on his 38 yd. run but the Bengals have got to expect somebody to make that tackle at the 2nd level. The defense on the whole played well....well enough to win. Caddy got 56 yds on 2 runs and the rest of the time he was pretty much held in check. Is there any doubt left in anyone's mind that Joseph should be on the field all times defensively?
aaronburr
Is there any doubt left in anyone's mind that Joseph should be on the field all times defensively?I think if you didn't know better, you'd think Tory was the rookie. There were times when I saw Joseph and Ratliff on the field at the same time (maybe when Deltha was banged up) and nothing catastrophic happened. Tory, on the other hand, still gives up big plays.Make the change, Marvin.
CBin2k7
I enjoy watching JJ tackle, unlike Tory James, Joseph comes up and tries to make a play. James waits until the ball carrier gets in his zone, then he whiffs on the tackle. Brooks is going to get better and better the more reps he gets. I didn't notice Whit too much except for the one holding call. If you don't notice the o-line, it's normally a good thing.
Whur CHad At?
I think JJ, Brooks, and Peko should all be starting...give Whit more time obviously

If you don't notice the o-line, it's normally a good thing. You'd think it would be the reverse, but Tory just doesn't tackle for anything. Normally, the less experienced guys are less adjusted to the collision aspect of the game, but JJ comes up with a purpose and fills hard. Something that I really like about him. A lot of corners come up just hoping not to screw up (see James, Tory), and JJ tries to make plays. Tory looks scared.Tory's deterred footspeed also has to be a part of the problem. If you can't get yourself in a position to make a play, you just can't make it.

SkinneymulleT
if jj makes either of the 2 picks that were in his hands we win big. Brooks is a beast but is clearly a little confused at times, but when left to attack and run at the ball he did well in pursuit. O line sucked so whit is in there with them, and guy-upchuck blows(i know not rookie but wilkerson is and cant do any worse). peko made little impact but who can now that we are not allowed to hit any quarterbacks and the league got us back for the trent green hit, like the friggin cosa nostra! ChadJohnson-85
Awesome job by the Rookies today! JJ & Brooks were both awesome! JJ just needs to learn how to make an interception.
Stripes
Joseph was the best corner on the team today. If he isn't starting soon, then Tory must be offering "extra special" favors to Marvin and his staff.
