tOSU #1. Michigan #2?

Who is number two? Michigan or USC?

I don't think Michigan can jump USC for the number two spot, although I think they are the better team.

Can you imagine a #1 vs. #2 tOSU/Michigan game? That would be the national championship game, no matter what happens in the bowls.

They need a playoff system.....

I think Michigan is leaps and bounds better than USC. Considering the way Florida jumped USC last week, I think Michigan could do the same this week. The only ranking that matters will come out of the computers though, and who knows how that'll end up.

USC will probably lose to Cal and/or Oregon, and Michigan will be the obvious #2 at that point. They have Iowa next week, but it's at home and I doubt they lose.

A playoff system would be so great this year. Just imagine a true National Championship Game played between the Buckeyes and Wolverines. Wow.

Whoever wins the November matchup is going to win it all.

Michigan is, in my opinion, a much better team than USC. Michigan is definately the more physical team, and UM's passing attack didn't seem to lose a beat with Manningham out. I live in northwest Ohio, pretty much middle ground between UM and OSU, and every other aspect of daily life would be halted if these two played each other in a 1-2 game. Should be a hell of a thing to watch.

Consider this, it has been 33 years since both teams played each other undefeted. Plus, they have never played each other ranked 1 & 2. This could become the biggest game, not just of the season, but of the rivalry! It is already being considered a semi-final game to the National Championship game with the winner heading to Glendale.

If Michigan is #2 when Ohio State plays them, and OSU wins that game, and the National Championship... they will have played the #2 ranked team in the country 3 times (Texas, Michigan, Championship game). I wonder if that has ever happened before?

It would certainly prove the Buckeyes as the best team in the country, being forced to play teams ranked directly under them 3 times in the course of the season.

That is a question I have been asking for the past couple of weeks, I have no idea where to start to find out. Just the mere fact the Buckeyes could potentially play 2 teams ranked #2 in the nation during the regular season may have never happened before. But just where can that question be answered? It just bogles the mind.
