The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports the Packers are going to release DE Joe Johnson and DE Jamal Reynolds. Asked what their future in Green Bay was, HC Mike Sherman said, "I don't want to make that decision today." The only question the Packers face is whether to release Johnson before June 1. If they wait until after, they'll be able to push some of his salary-cap charge into the future and gain $4 million in cap room. If they do it before then, they'll gain about $700,000 and wipe his contract off the books for good. The Packers are probably going to take an $850,000 cap hit no matter when they release Reynolds. As of Wednesday, the Packers were about $2.1 million beneath the $80.6 million cap.

Johnson was productive before he joined the Packers, and Jamal Reynolds was top-notch at Florida St. Neither really panned out in Green Bay.Johnson I believe from injuries and inconsistent play, and Reynolds was basically beaten out by K G B (Kabeer Gbaja Biamila.

here are there career stats links from NFL.com

2. Jamal Reynolds - http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/235238

2-cents : Joe Johnson was one of the elite pass rushers when he was in New Orleans, but age may have caught up to him. However Reynolds is only 25, he's 6-4 and 260 lbs. Very Mike McCrary like, Marvin may be able to resurrect his career, and turn him into the pass rushing force he was in College !
