derekshank
We forget so quickly how well our run defense played in the first 2 weeks. Has Sam had bad games since then? I don't know... I'd have to re-watch the games specifially for that purpose, but I'll just say that I doubt it's his fault. Having a back-up SS and 3rd string SSLB starting the game will kill most teams run defense.Piss-poor tackling? Yep. Also not Sam's fault (I'd argue again that it has a lot to do with the injuries). Sam wasn't brought in here to make a ton of tackles. He was brought in to take up blockers, and eat up space. He does that job.I will agree that I'd like to see S. Smith on the field more often to spell Adams, but I can't complain about the job Peko has done either. I think if Jeanty and Dexter are starting @TB next week, the threads about our bad run defense will subside.

Stripes
I don't see raven fans bitching about ngata.Well their defense doesn't suck terribly, as that of the Bengals has lately. This thread wouldn't exist if the defense were playing better as a whole.
johnstownsteel
I can't say he isn't trying damn hard, but GAWD, he is a fat a$$! Mobility is really poor. Moves about as fast as a glacier. Isnt that what you guys have been begging for for the past 3 years? Like ive been saying, we dont need big DTs, we need GOOD DTs, the size doesnt have as much to do with stopping the run as the talent does. You guys are learning this now.Looks as though I'm one of the few who agree with you. Teams don't double down on a guy because of his size. They do it to players that are good and disruptive. I must be missing something on these positive evaluations of Adams. I really don't see teams doubling him very often nor do I see him doing much to disrupt what the offense is doing. HoTbOy
I am beginning to wonder a little bit...1st qtr his 1st step is awesome for man that size, after that nothing to write home about...he just runs out of gas to quick for me, maybe because he missed so much training camp...I have noticed teams screening or passing when he is in and running as soon as he is out of the game because he is so tired from chasing after screen plays or rushing the QB on the pass plays...
