Packers Release CB Ahmad Carroll

The Green Bay Packers on Tuesday released cornerback Ahmad Carroll. Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson made the announcement.

Carroll, the Packers' first-round selection in the 2004 NFL Draft, played 34 games in three seasons, starting 28 contests. He had 104 tackles (95 solo), three interceptions, three sacks, 26 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

I don't get it. How do the Packers start a guy on Monday Night Football and then dump him the next day? If he's that bad, why was he starting?

Was he starting? I thought they had Charles Woodson and Al Harris.

You're right. He started last year right? Or am I just crazy?

I think he did start last year, but that's not saying much considering it was the Packers secondary from last year. Remember Ohalete even started for us. What I can't believe is they would give up on a first round pick so fast. I'd love to see Marvin and Coyle try to work some of that magic on him that they used on Deltha.
