johnstownsteel
You're all starting to sound like Steelers fans. Seriously, one loss (though a pretty bad woopin') and you speak as though the season is totally lost. Trust me, losses like this are eye openers and tend to lead good teams to reevaluate where they stand and work on problem areas. The Bengals remain one of the best teams in the league, Here's why... First and foremost, Marvin Lewis is a great coach. He will disect this game to no end and determine what went wrong. I'm not only speaking about the players performances but also that of his offensive and defensive coordinators. The guy's a perfectionist. He has it covered.Second, the Bengal offense will bounce back and once again carry this team. Just because most of you wrote off the Pats as a has been team doesn't mean they are elementary. They are well coached, physical and just plain solid. The offense hit a wall. That's all there is to it...happens to the best of em. It's still very early in the season and they just aren't clicking yet. I'm not saying those injuries and suspensions is the root cause but they sure can't help matters.Lastly, they will bounce back because of personnel changes and experience. Let's face it, this is a fairly young team with some nice talent just itching for their chance. That time will come albeit slowly. At this point, rushing these young guys into starting roles would be foolish. Working them into "safe" situations to gain both confidence and game experience will go along way in preparing them for crunch time. That drive to the playoffs. Alright, I've said my peace. I know I'll get the typical "worry about your own team " response so have at it. To be honest, this bye week has grown tiresome and at this point I'm quite bored. Just thought I'd chime in and call it like I see it. By the way, as far as my team is concerned, I'm quite confident that we're still a solid football team that once again will end up with a spot in the playoffs. I may be one of the few but that's just how I see things. Don't write off the Steelers like you did with those Pats is all I'm saying.Oh yea, with all the p!ss!ng and moaning around here I thought I was at the Steeler board. Funny...ya'll stick it to em about being little whiners but you sound just like em. Just an observation...that's all.

I simply saw a horrid defensive effort. As soon as we heal up a few more bodies, we should/might/hopefully/probably will be okay. Against the better teams. IMHO we will still beat your Steelers, no problemo.
101Airborne
Always good to have you around JTS. I agree with everything you said, save possibly the whining. We are pissed but for a good reason. had we lost by 3 points or a touchdown that would be one thing and we could just call it an off game. As it stands, we got run the hell over and that is worrysome. Regardless, we are a much better team than what played today and the fact that we are missing so many players is killing us. Even with those losses, we should have won this game and that's the worst part. There is NO excuse for losing this badly. I'm no genius football play caller, but even I can see that passing twice on 2nd and 2 is pretty foolish. Maybe they were hoping to catch the Pats off guard, but they weren't fooling anyone.Anyhow, JTS, good having you here, since two of your fellow fans are acting like a couple of middle schoolers in the Smack Forum. Kazkal
I'm not worried about the season because I know were a good team, but I'm worried about problems from last year and were from start of the year and thats our defense.
semiotter
Hey its not like we lost to the RAIDERS or TITANS man NE is still pretty good....
Pinkygen
Wow, leave it to a Steelers fan to correct us. Johnstownsteel is totally correct. The season isn't over, 3-1 before the bye is still good, and we will be getting a lot of people back from injuries. That being said, there are points of concern. Something seems very wrong with the defense, as well as the offensive line. And Palmer having two bad games in a row is not comforting. Anyway, thanks for the perspective. And it's good to have you on the board, and to post something actually constructive and not gloating. (I may be happy when the Steelers lose, but I don't go troll their forums). redsfan2
The Bengals aren't the only team that the Pats will beat this year. Even I didn't figure on winning them all ........ and at 3 n 1 we're right on course for my 12 n 4 season.
Dadraftnick
I cant belive a steelers fan has the nerve.WHAT WAS THE SCORE IN THAT BENGALS VS steelers GAME ????????And we beat you with half our team injured.Go back to your NAMBLA meeting. SteelerFan87
No, as this game makes even more apparent, WE beat OURSELVES. Again, the only difference between this game and last week was that the Pats didn't make idiotic mistakes like the Steelers did, otherwise it's the exact same game.As for why I personally am rubbing this in your faces, it's because of all the crap I've heard from Bengals fans ever since that playoff game last year. Now, I'm not talking about ALL bengals fans, there are quite a few here that I respect. But the fact of the matter is, the Steelers aren't as bad as you think they are, and the Bengals aren't as good as you thought they were. Now, they also aren't as bad as they looked today, but come on! You have to protect Palmer! I don't know if there's anything you can do about your defense, but you definitely need to find some way to protect Palmer and keep him comfortable. How you didn't burn the Pats secondary today is just beyond me.

How you didn't burn the Pats secondary today is just beyond me.How we can fix our defense is by not having half of our starters on the IR. A huge part of our O-line is the center and, once again, injuries are killing us there. Fact is no team "beats itself", teams have bad days and they lose or win on their own merit. The Bengals lost today because we sucked. Steelers lost last week because they sucked. Steelers are not a bad team, Bengals are not a bad team. The Ratbirds have yet to suck. He who wins the North will be the team who sucks the least.

I try to post logical evaluations to make you see that maybe, just maybe you don't know everything, but you just can't accept it can you? Some of your fellow fans do. They're the ones who admitted that JTS is right.
ArmyBengal
I won't comment but to say, we (as all fans) have a right to be good and pissed off when their team looks and plays like a bunch of little girls only to give up during a game... I have never seen some sh*t like what I saw today !!! This is not to say anything close to, "The season is lost" and I'm sure it will lend to a very educational two weeks for the players and coaches. (At least I hope so)No one is giving up on sh*t around here and while 3-1 is better than some expected around here, what we saw today was the most pathetic excuse for defense I can remember seeing from this team in better than three years. I was embarrassed today for them !!!WHODEY !!!

To fill in any gaps, I'd like to give you a physical image to go along with the mental one that you've arrived at. I ... myself am older ... 50's about 5 1/2 foot or so 165 lbs and pretty typical except for one identifying mark. It's a scar across my buttocks that was the result of being clumsy with some concertina ( barbed ) wire that I was stringing. Got tangled up and sat on it and the scar as best as I can approximate here ... left to right looks like _._ .. ... ... )( _ .... .. ... The )( is my butt cheeks. Now if this looks familiar to you, it's because its Morse Code ....... My left cheek reads K-I-S-S and the right reads T-H-I-S. Amazing huh!Now that should sum it up for you ....... provided you can read between the lines ... and if you can't then try reading across the crack.
