The Bengals offense held it down and did what they needed to do to get the win. But my hat goes off to the Defense. Thanks to the backups and package defenders, Joseph, Ratliff, Peko, KK, ect. KK had a tremendous game filling in for the starter and deserved the recongnition from Palmer after game in his interview. KK is one of the best backup safeties in the game! The defensive line and Linebackers played great too.

yeah but that's pitts whole gameplan. You can't stop them on the run week in and week out. Our philosophy was bend but don't break. We didn't give up any huge runs. Our defense played very well for having the guys missing that we had on Sunday. I'll be looking forward to having dexter and Odell back in 2 weeks. Hands down, that was one of the best defensive games we've had in a while. Our guys made some pretty key plays when they needed a big stop. Plus the 5 turnovers, help put the choke on the Steelers offense.

I thought the defense looked like crap, honestly. We got some turnovers when we needed them though.

I'll agree to a point. It was getting incredibly frustrating watching the D give up 8 and 9 rushing yards on 1st down. But surprisingly, the defense played better as the game wore on. Usually the Bengals Defense would tire out, and get worse as the game went on... especially when the Pittsburgh Offense had the ball for nearly 34 minutes. So our endurance was promising.

The one thing I can say I did like is that Parker only had 2 rushes the entire game of over 10 yards. I would have liked to put an end to those seemingly never ending 5-6 yard runs, but we didn't have any major lapses. In the past we'd say things like "Well... if you take away the 47 and 63 yard TD runs, our run defense played pretty good." It seems like we're improving. Slowly but surely. We'll only get better... especially when we get Dexter back.

I'll give a lot of credit to Peko for the defense's improvement in the second half. I thought the secondary played a great physical game against the pass though, considering the loss of Dexter.

The defense was bailed out by Rothleisburger. If Batch had played, we might have lost this game. Think about it. If we hadn't had that first pick, we're down 14-0. If Rothleisburger could be smarter than to chuck the ball 45 yards down field, we may have lost. If he hadn't underthrown every reciever, our secondary wouldn't look so good.

I can't see Odell being the answer to our run problems.

Odell will not have practiced with the team for four weeks. Last year he was out of position at least a 1/4 of the time. You know a lot of those big runs last year were Odell's and the LB corps' fault. I like Simmons in the middle, and LJ on the outside. I don't mind if Geanty plays.

His DUI last night may have sealed his fate for this season. To me, it shows just how inmature he is. You have been given one last chance by Marvin, and you go screw it up. .17 is drunk, but not drunk enough to figure out that you shouldn't drive. I don't care what your opinions are about drunk driving (it is extremely dangerous), but Odell should have realized what he was doing to his career as well.
