The TV crew made a big deal about the wind and how teams were only scoring with the wind at their back. I didnt listen to Brad and Lap so I dont know if they mentioned it.

What i want to know is how we managed to get the wind in the 4th quarter. Did ML work that or was it a mistake by "Coward" to kick in the wrong direction at the start of the game after the Bengals won the toss and elected to receive?

Even though we were losing in the 3rd quarter, I wasnt worried because the wind would be at our backs in the 4th.

I don't remember how we got the wind in the 4th, but I do remember thinking in the 3rd how if we kept it close until the 4th maybe Mother Nature would be of some assistance. I think Couchlie (sp?) is cursing Mother right about now!

By winning the coin toss at the start of the game, the Bengals get to pick the direction for the start of the second half. That simple fact made a big difference, IMO.

Actually, Marvin selected to go INTO the wind for the 3rd quarter, giving us the wind (and the game) the 4th quarter. This is actually CONTRARY to 98% of the NFL games, when teams make someone receiving the ball go into the wind.

I can remember Marvin's first year, when we were playing up in Buffalo during a windy game. We won the coin toss for overtime and Marvin elected to get the ball - even though ALL scoring had been with the wind. Sure enough - we lost the game (3 'n' out, short punt, 1st down, field goal)

I love a coach that learns his lessons!!!!
