Dadraftnick
In an article in the Dayton Daily News this guy Chuck Ludwig says :"After the Bengals' Carson Palmer wrecked his knee in the Jan. 8 playoff loss to Pittsburgh, "It makes it sound like Carson took a hamer to his knee on the sideline during the game.Carson Palmer did not wreck his knee, KimoVonOlehoffen did on Bill Coward's orders so, not to say that Kimo, the Steelers or Bill Coward broke Carsons Knee is just not propper english.I tried to e-mail them but, it wouldn't go through.Anyway here is the rest of the article--Rothelsburger says Marvin insulted him . woooooooooo Im shakin my bootsBig Ben remembersSteelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger remembers an unflattering comment toward him by Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis last season. After the Bengals' Carson Palmer wrecked his knee in the Jan. 8 playoff loss to Pittsburgh, Lewis said: "Gee whiz, a guy got hurt. Forget it. Let it go. Don't sit there and baby and cry like their quarterback did."The comment was in reference to linebacker Odell Thurman's roughing-the-passer penalty on Roethlisberger in the Bengals' 38-31 win at Pittsburgh on Dec. 4."I heard the comment," Roethlisberger said. "I was kind of taken aback by it because I don't ever remember crying about it. That's not really my style. It kind of threw me for a loop when Coach Lewis said that because I don't expect that coming from him. But, hey, that's the way he felt. He's entitled to his opinion. That's fine."Step right upSafety Kevin Kaesviharn is ready to pinch hit for injured starter Dexter Jackson. It's a repeat of last season when he filled in for Madieu Williams.Kaesviharn is a willing run defender who covers a lot of ground in the secondary."I'm not new to it," he said. "I know what I need to do and what we need to do as a team. We need to step up and keep this thing rolling. We have confidence in the system and what we're trying to accomplish."Injury reportWide receivers Antonio Chatman (groin) and T.J. Houshmandzadeh (heel) remained doubtful and questionable, respectively, on Thursday's injury report.Meanwhile, wideout Chris Henry (groin) and cornerback Deltha O'Neal (knee) practiced for the first time this week and are due to start on Sunday.Chad Johnson, Henry and Kelley Washington are the only healthy wide receivers on the roster, and Johnson isn't 100 percent after absorbing a blow to the head against Cleveland.Quote machine"It's always intense, always a tough game. We've got to be focused — just play together and do our jobs — and get this win." — Bengals cornerback Tory James on facing the Steelers — Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher owns a 21-8 record (.724) against Cincinnati — his most victories against any team — and Bengals defensive tackle Sam Adams knows why."Pittsburgh prides itself on physically beating you up," Adams said. "That's how they go about doing their business. Every team in the league wants to play physical. Stripes
Seriously, c'mon. Bengals fans whining about that play the day before the game THE NEXT SEASON is embarassing.
ArmyBengal
This tastes oddly of sour grapes !!!Heard it all before, time to move on already !!!WHODEY !!!
DC_Bengals_Fan
Yeah, let's get on with things. Not to mention, I've never seen a shred of evidence that Kimo's hit was a hatchet job, let alone one ordered by Cowher. I've never heard anything about him doing anything like that. So let's leave it as it is - an unfortunate result of a hit that was slightly, though not punishably, late. We're starting the season 2-0, and if we make it 3-0 we look pretty good from here on out, especially considering the disintegration of the AFC west and NFC south that we all thought would give us problems. ArmyBengal
I'll go ahead and take this thread OFF TOPIC and say I haven't given up on the strength of the NFC South quite yet. We will see today how the Panthers will turn out having Steve Smith back in the lineup, as that has been a huge loss for them... The Bucs are WAAAAAAY confused and Simms has been getting his asspiece handed to him, but you can't overlook them and their defense either. The Falcons are tough, but the new love of the league Saints and their lucky ass 2-0 record, don't concern me...If it continues this way, we'll move it to the NFL forum...WHODEY !!! rishipatel
I agree, time to move on. A new season, new hopes. I do like the irony of Little Ben's statement though. "Roethlisberger said "I was kind of taken aback by it because I don't ever remember crying about it. That's not really my style"." He says its not his style to whine and cry and make excuses, but all we hear are excuses about his poor play and "ailments". Hell, after last weeks game, even though he took the onus for the loss, he still gave himself an excuse that he really wasn't feeling well. Wisk
Likewise...The Kimo "kill-shot" was not dirty or intentional or ordered....drop that s##t!That's lame....but does not change the fact that the hit was clearly LATE and LOW.That fact and the reaction of Steeler fans - gloating, laughing and e-mails like the "Snickers Bar - Not going anywhere for awhile" with Carson down pic....make me livid.Karma sucks and Pitt is seeing it this year.Let's play the game and hope we are healthy enough to put it in the face of the Steelers and their fans!
