Volek dealt to the Chargers

They played an interview with Fisher on Sportscenter... he said Volek had been "untruthful about where he was and what he was doing at the start of training camp." He also said that the minute they brought Collins in, Volek began demanding a trade. Fisher said he wouldn't start a quarterback that wanted to be traded so desperately, and that's why he was downgraded to 3rd string.

Fisher later contradicted himself by saying "when we brought in Collins, it was a unanimous decision to trade Volek" among those people in the Titans organization with a say in that sort of thing.

So which is it, Jeff? Did Volek want to be traded because of Collins, or did you want to trade him because of Collins? I seem to remember Volek being downgraded BEFORE Collins was brought in as well, or at least it was rumored to happen.

Based on what I saw in that interview, I'm inclined to side with Volek.

I tend to side with Jeff on this one.

He brought in Collins because Young was banged up, and he felt insecure with the lack of experience behind Volek. Volek immediately demanded a trade and started causing all kinds of problems (and this isn't the first time he's done that).

I also have to think that Jeff would have gone this direction at the beginning of preseason had he been in charge of personnel. Unfortunately, he has to go along with whatever Floyd "The Barber" Reese decides.
