agreen_112
Somebody slap this guy. Non coaching-created injuries, wtf is he talking about? What coaching created injury was there? That has to be one of the dumbest statements ever; "non coaching-created injuries".

agreen_112
what injury, he's fine. Just got a little scratch. I betcha he changes that crappy chin strap by next week. You think Chad wanted to come out of that game? HEll NO!In hindsight, which is always 20/20, Coach could have put in some of the twos on offense for the last series. It is not about what Chad wants. At least I hope it's not.
HoosierCat
It is not about what Chad wants.Exactly. But what bugs me isnt so much that Chad was still in the game, but that there was a pass thrown at all.At that point, there was 2:07 left in the game and the Bengals were up 34-10. You run the ball. (And not with Rudi, put the rookie in.) Even if you don't get a first and have to punt, the Brows have 2 minutes and are 4 scores (or 3 TDs and 3 2-point conversions) down. Not to mention having to recover multiple onside kicks. Ther is simply no excuse for taking any chances at all at that point in the game, period. Dumb call by Brat, dumb defense of it by Marvin, and they are both lucky things didn't turn out worse.

AMC
alot of helmets flew off this weekend.......Wait til next week! Knock that ONE decal off the Steeler's helmets....As for yesterday's game, I like Marvin's aggressiveness, but punting the ball and putting the D out there would have been rather nice.....20/20! Dumb call by Brat, dumb defense of it by Marvin, and they are both lucky things didn't turn out worse.Meh... they were trying to get a 1st down so that the defense could just relax the rest of the game. I can respect that. If you can keep the ball out of the hands of the Browns, why not? For the same reasons you cited, it wasn't an overly risky call. It would have been a bad call if we were only up by one score. Then a turnover would give the Browns good field position, and a chance to tie it up or win. There was no chance of that, so just run down the clock. In this scenario... even if was incomplete, you only lose 7 seconds because of the 2-minute warning. There wasn't a lot to lose.I'll agree that there was no reason for Chad to be in the game... but you can make the same argument for Rudi. The play call wasn't a bigger risk for injury than any other play call for the whole game. It just turned out badly... and you're right, they're lucky it didn't turn out worse, just like every other play. It's a non-issue.

You think Chad wanted to come out of that game? HEll NO!Oh really? A little scratch?Wide receiver Chad Johnson, who took a blow to the head late in the fourth quarter on a Carson Palmer interception, didn't know where he was. Wide receivers coach Hue Jackson had to help him get dressed...Even Johnson's postgame interviews were cancelled by Bengals public relations director Jack Brennan, who emerged from the training room and said, "(Johnson will) be all right after a good night's sleep, but he's not all right now."Carson too is concerned."He's a little loopy," Palmer said of Johnson. "He's a little out of it, but he'll be ready."Guys are hurt I didn't know were hurt."Hardly a little scratch. Probable mild concussion? Please, draw me the connection between a scratch and forced to stop postgame interviews because he had a "scratch"... hummmmm.. .still not seeing it.
