sexywendy Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I joined the stillers.com website as whodey68 and am having fun screwing with them. Does that make me a troll? Quote
membengal Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 yes, and it is a pretty s**tty thing to do in my opinion. Quote
duus Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I hate trolls. What purpose in life do they actually serve? Just be a fan. Find those who like your team and enjoy it. Why this deep need to fight with the 'other guys'. I have to agree with membengal ... couldn't agree more. Quote
GROIIIDayton Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I'm coming over to join you...lol Quote
agreen_112 Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I don't understand why you guys would call him a troll. Its the same here. We have a section called smack talk and I would imagine that they have the same. So if I or they joined the board and only went to that section, why would I or they be called a troll. It doesn't make any sence, to me its stupid. I went over to Indy's last year before the game and went to their non-indy fan forum and started talking about how good Palmer was going to be and that he was the MVP and they called me a troll.... It makes no sence. Quote
membengal Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I guess I don't understand the need to pee in someone else's corn flakes, nor do I like it when they pee in mine. Quote
NYBengalfan Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I have mixed opinions..... Sometimes I like to talk $hit but sometimes I dont. i dont ususally go lookingfor it.Its a personal preference. Either way it doesnt bother me with what other people do as long as they are reppin us with class!.....all I gotta say is dont do like steelers fans do and smack us without giving any reason for their beliefs, thats my main Problem with them, just show that you can back up what you say with facts and it'll be cool. agreen_112 Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I guess I don't understand the need to pee in someone else's corn flakes, nor do I like it when they pee in mine.someone must though, then they're wouldn't be a section created just for those type of people that like to talk smack. They can't be a troll if that's the only place they post... Quote
membengal Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 But they don't restrict themselves to there, inevitabley it bleeds in here. And doing stuff to them just brings more here. Like I said, makes no sense to me. Never has. Never will. Quote

skyline Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 It depends on the contents of your posts over there.Do us all a favor and post insightful things that actually contribute to the discussion. A troll is someone that is just there to give people a hard time. Quote
stilldiesel Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I APPLAUD Whodey 68. Let me say it again, APPLAUD. I am a mod at Stillers.com and we don't have a smack board. Come over and talk all the crap you want. We only move threads if you troll HARD and start hijacking every thread. I think smack talk belongs on the main board so long as it does not DOMINATE the board. (you guys and the Ravens board need to lighten up a little) Quote
DesperateDerelict Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 It depends on the contents of your posts over there.Do us all a favor and post insightful things that actually contribute to the discussion. A troll is someone that is just there to give people a hard time.(ALMOST) EXACTLY, MR. CHILI!!!troll1. v.,n. [From the Usenet group alt.folklore.urban] To utter a posting on Usenet designed to attract predictable responses or flames; or, the post itself. Derives from the phrase “trolling for newbies” which in turn comes from mainstream “trolling”, a style of fishing in which one trails bait through a likely spot hoping for a bite. The well-constructed troll is a post that induces lots of newbies and flamers to make themselves look even more clueless than they already do, while subtly conveying to the more savvy and experienced that it is in fact a deliberate troll. If you don't fall for the joke, you get to be in on it. See also YHBT.2. n. An individual who chronically trolls in sense 1; regularly posts specious arguments, flames or personal attacks to a newsgroup, discussion list, or in email for no other purpose than to annoy someone or disrupt a discussion. Trolls are recognizable by the fact that they have no real interest in learning about the topic at hand - they simply want to utter flame bait. Like the ugly creatures they are named after, they exhibit no redeeming characteristics, and as such, they are recognized as a lower form of life on the net, as in, “Oh, ignore him, he's just a troll.” Compare kook. The use of ‘troll’ in any of these senses is a live metaphor that readily produces elaborations and combining forms. For example, one not infrequently sees the warning “Do not feed the troll” as part of a followup to troll postings. Quote
