Btrester151
I heard the bucs are offering him a 1 year deal worth only 685,000 and a 25,000 signing bonus....umm. think we should make an offer????
Barbarian
My answer is NO, nay, no, no, no. With a young team like the Bengals, Russel would be worse than Dillon as far as diseases go. Russel is big trouble. He gets suspended all the time.
Btrester151
But do you think he is gonna f%&k his last chance up? We need some help on the line. Seems like nobody here wants to take a chance. If he f**ks up, release his ass, where else can you find talent like that for 750,000$$$$? Barbarian
For once in my entire life, I'm saying that Mike Brown should save his money and keep the 750 GRRRR (Jim Rome reference).THAT'S A WASTE OF MONEY.
chrishcovga
I've said it before, I'll say it again... The player that deserves consideration is ...Norman Hand.-He was recently released by the Seahawks, and remains one of the better run stuffers in the league. He doesn't offer the same criticisms of " druggy " Darrell Russell, and "quitter" Daryl Gardener.

wookie
Maybe, but if you don't have to pay a lot...and you can get him in with Lewis...then it might be worth a 1 year contract. If the guy turns out to be the a**hole everyone thinks he'll be, then cut him and plug in the #1 pick Vince Wilfork...or Tommie Harris. BengalsDieHard1
Let's save our $$$$ for our 5 first draft day picks..........it's like an early Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Barbarian
Norman Hand isn't the answer either. The answer lies with the 1st pick of the 2004 draft.Mikey, do us all a favor and use the 1st pick on a DT.

chrishcovga
There is enough talent at the DT spot this year to get a guy probably as deep as the 5th round that could challenge for a starting spot.-- keep this name in mind. Jordan Carstens dt, Iowa ST.But back to the thread... On more than enough threads in this forum, you guys complain about , Corey,Pickens,Mike Brown, Marvins' decision making etc. etc.. - Then when there's a legitimate guy to bring in as a FA, cheaper than Sapp, and probably a better run defender, you say -- "bring in the head cases with Russell and Gardener ! The guy only played well with ML in D.C. because Marvin had to get on him like he did everyone else here last year. Marvin has said before, that he wants players that can self-motivate themselves, not players that have to be "coddled" like children.-- There is absolutely nothing upstairs with Russell. The light isn't even on.-- Gardener is a bum. His best football was more than 4 years ago.Tony Williams' production, doesn't warrant his salary. Langston Moore will be given an opportunity to win his spot, and most likely 2 defensive tackles will be drafted this year.* And as for the first pick, the Best defensive player available should suffice. One of the top 4 should make it to # 17. If not, trade down, and pick up a Corner, and go after D-line and safeties in rounds 2 and 3.
