Kirkendall Posted April 2, 2004 Author Report Posted April 2, 2004 Kirk, after we have our all time Bengals team I propose an alltime Bungles team, for the losers we remember so fondly.... . There should be even more to choose from.... That's a great idea. We'll definately do that after we complete the all-bengals team. Thx, LK for the idea. Quote
jjakq27 Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 Redsfan... I cannot believe you just said Eddie Brown wasn't as good a deep threat as Collinsworth was.. ,--That's just mind numbing to hear that , that really is. Eddie Brown didn't have the sure hands that CC had, but Collinsworth couldn't beat EB in a foot race if he took a BUS !. Save your bus tokens because Collinsworth was the Florida High School State Champion in the 100 yd sprint. I'd rather have a guy run a 4.5 or 4.6 40 and catch everything than a 4.3 guy that drops every other pass. Who did they go to on third down? I know it wasn't Eddie Brown. Quote
The Brew Man Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 Kirk, on your poll you have Tim Brown, i think you mean McGee.... Quote
Spain21 Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 Definently Collinsworth Curtis Pickens Chad I dont by Brown because he realy only had three good years. Quote
Kirkendall Posted April 3, 2004 Author Report Posted April 3, 2004 Kirk, on your poll you have Tim Brown, i think you mean McGee.... That's a big error... It's fixed now.. thanks for the heads up. Quote
Chad Johnson Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 well when the bungle one comes up The #1 CB is going to be TOAST the real orignal toast Rod Jones #25 if my memory servesI still think that if CJ had just 1 more year under his beltthe vote wouldnt be like this Quote
chrishcovga Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 Yeah , jjaq... but The guy with 4.3 speed, won us more games, than the guy that couldn't hold it together when his body co-ordination went all crazy.- The only reason why Eddie Brown didn't have all the reception records was because of the neck injury....- speaking of that, did anyone see his neck after he broke it..? After his career ending surgery, his neck looked like "Quatto" was growing out of it. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 "Quatto" ?? I'm thinking Total Recall ?? Quote
jjakq27 Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 Yeah , jjaq... but The guy with 4.3 speed, won us more games, than the guy that couldn't hold it together when his body co-ordination went all crazy.- The only reason why Eddie Brown didn't have all the reception records was because of the neck injury....Collinsworth had four 1000 yd seasons (81, 83, 85, 86) compared to EB's one (1988). Brown played from 85-91 and Cris played from 81-88. Pretty comparable in terms of years played. The only things I seem to remember about Eddie Brown are some long bombs and alot of dropped passes. I doubt that he won any more games than Collinsworth. You can take Eddie but I will take Cris anytime. Quote
WHO DEY AGAIN? Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 This is too easy.#1-Curtis-Too bad if you never had a chance to watch him play. I see some people with Pickens first and that tells me they never saw him play.#2-Collinsworth-Fearless across the middle. Goofy but fearless.#3-Brown-Downtown Eddie Brown could outrun anyone.#4-Joiner-Short stay but he had some serious talent.#5-Johnson-I hope in a few years that I can put him at the top.#6-Pickens-Good numbers on bad teams. Bad attitude, much like Dillon. Quote

hottub Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 The very offensive tackle. I like "swinging gate", by the way - very descriptive. Quote
chrishcovga Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 Don't knock Rod Jones (cb) too bad. I can actually remember him making some good plays ,made a couple of last second interceptions to ice games for us.Plus, He'll always go down ,as the guy that caught Bo' Jackson from behind ! Quote
Kirkendall Posted April 6, 2004 Author Report Posted April 6, 2004 Time for everyone to vote for the second starting WR on the All-Time Bengals team. Quote
Barbarian Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 2nd string:Chad Johnson (as of present not future)Downtown Eddie Brown Quote

JBrooks Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 Kevin Walker. LB that ended Bo's career. Both of 'em. Quote
jjakq27 Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 Kevin Walker. LB that ended Bo's career. Both of 'em.I think that Rod Jones (DB) caught Bo from behind at about the three yard line on a long run when the Bengals played the Raiders in LA during the 1990 regular season. I think Bo had started left and then came back across the field before he was pulled down after running about 120 yds.During the playoff game a few weeks later, Kevin Walker tackled Bo, injuring his hip and basically ending his FB career. By the way should we call that play the "curse of Bo"? This was the last time the Bengals played in a playoff game. Quote

My mistake if that was the one Chi-Town was talking about. But on a very similar play, pulling him down from behind as well, was Kevin Walker that ended his playing days. Quote

There should be even more to choose from.... Best Bengal to make the smart choice:Tom Waddle, former crazy receiver from Chicago who put his body out there for a beating over the middle game after game. Picked up by the Bengals after he was cut by Chicago and retired before we could get him killed! Quote
