rwalling
Call me crazy, but with the Padres in for three at GABP and the Cards playing Houston I think they still might have an outside chance. Undeserved... undoubtedly. But if they can catch a little lightning in a bottle for the week, who knows?
ArmyBengal
I've been saying that for a while in regards to the September schedule, but thier inconsistent play would keep me from being overly optimistic...WHODEY !!!
duus
Hey, I'm in with the kool aid, but a sweep against the Padres is a must.
ArmyBengal
Agree Duus, 3.5 games behind the Padres...WHODEY !!!
MacD BengalFan
The Reds actually have some control over their destiny by playing the Padres this week and the Marlins in the next to last series of the season. A sweep of them both could go a long way to securing a playoff spot. But as mentioned earlier, recent inconsistent play makes a playoff possibility doubtful. ArmyBengal
I wish Arroyo wouldn't have had that huge slump in the middle of the season, because he seems to be back on again. Some of that slump could be attributed to the lack of offense and the lack of bullpen, but anyway, nice to see him pitching well and hoping to see him stay around !!!WHODEY !!! Casey
A sweep of the Padres would be nice, but even if they can take 2 out of 3, I think they are still OK. Just looking at the remaining schedule, only Philly has it easier. Phillies: Games Remaining: 19 (Home: 7; Away: 12) Opponents' Winning Percentage: .461 Reds:Games Remaining: 19 (Home: 7; Away: 12) Opponents' Winning Percentage: .464 Padres:Games Remaining: 20 (Home: 6; Away: 14) Opponents' Winning Percentage: .487 Giants:Games Remaining: 19 (Home: 9; Away: 10) Opponents' Winning Percentage: .491 Marlins:Games Remaining: 18 (Home: 8; Away: 10) Opponents' Winning Percentage: .

Stripes
A late in the season walk off job from LaRue? This better not be enough to keep him on the squad.
Casey
A late in the season walk off job from LaRue? This better not be enough to keep him on the squad. That home run may be the turning point in the season, which would make him the catalyst. Now that's a scary thought. LaRue with a walk off home run?!? Must be fate!I'm trying to decide if a wild card and a quick elimination by the Mets is worth another year of Fifi LaRue?!? Casey
The Padres are kicking the Reds ass in the top of the 7th 10-0...WHODEY !!!That's how it ended...not good at all. If they don't win tomorrow, I'll finally believe they are done. If they win, that's 2 out of 3 from the Padres and I'll be strung along a little longer. ArmyBengal
The Cards lost again, but it's getting to late in the game to not be gaining ground when the opportunity is there for the taking...WHODEY !!!
duus
IMO, this is it. Need a win today. Need it. Need it. Need it.(and I'm stuck 'watching' on the web ... wish I could actually SEE it)

ArmyBengal
The Padres stuck a fork in them good !!! 4 1/2 games back in the Wild Card and they just don't have it in them. Had they won today, this might be a different story... Oh well, there's always next year !!!WHODEY !!!
PMThor
Finished. Teased me all year.I went to 13 games this year. I am not a fairweather fan. But I am sick of this teasing that the Reds seem to do every year.Yet I will be back next year.Again.And again.I love my Reds.Dammit. ArmyBengal
To bad Arroyo and Harrang couldn't find a way to both win at the same time as opposed to running into slumps at the most untimely part of the season...WHODEY !!! Casey
I am jumping on the trade Adam Dunn wagon.Me too. The guy has done nothing when the Reds have needed him the most. Package him and LaRue, ship them out and try to at least get something in return.
