Stripes
The starting pitching didn't last.
CBin2k7
you know what TDB, the starting pitching hasn't been the achillies heel. It's been the lack of hitting with runners in scoring position, the piss poor defense, and the poor managing, some untimely bullpen blowups and overall lack of baseball fundamentals. The starting pitching has been average this year, but it's no worse than 60 percent of the rest of the National League
Stripes
I disagree... Statistically, they look fine, but since the All Star Break they haven't been good for much. Arroyo was terrible for a very long stretch and Harang slumped some too. The other guys are inconsistent by nature.I really don't think the bullpen is all that bad, especially with these guys Krivsky has brought in lately. It still certainly has room for improvement, but I don't see it as a huge problem among the other things the Reds have struggled with.I think our biggest problems are an inconsistent starting rotation and crappy situational offense. I think it starts with Narron.
MacD BengalFan
It is amazing how all the trades that Krivisky did was thought to improve the Reds pitching, but it seems it was all for naught. Is he the savior that we thought he was?
ArmyBengal
Krivsky has shown an interest in putting a winner in Cincinnati and that is more than I can say for previous persons !!! I for one am looking forward to this offseason. I don't think anyone is out of consideration if it means the team improves.... NO ONE !!!WHODEY !!! jditty47
his moves werent the downfall. it was the moves he didnt do, like trade dunn. its not like this guy can turn around a complete baseball team in a season, this offseason will be interesting
skyline
It is amazing how all the trades that Krivisky did was thought to improve the Reds pitching, but it seems it was all for naught. Is he the savior that we thought he was? If Krivsky hadn't made those moves, do you think we ever would have mentioned the word "playoffs" in August/September? I highly doubt it. The pitching was shaky (bullpen AND starters), and when the pitching did hold up in key games, the offense vanished. It happens. And now, as a final slap in the face, it looks like Everyday Eddie is going to be out for about a year...*sigh*

Wisk
yup they are falling apart.Agreed! You said it Ditty and Kspree! How disappointing / frustrating. Done for this year but I am still optimistic for next - and future years. Only because of Krivsky and Castellini's willingness to try to do what is necessary to negate Narron's insanity. The order was too tall however! I could not have imagined this magnitude of implosion though. But Bengals' kickoff is less than 72 hours away! WHO DEY!I'm sorry to be writing that this year after the previous Reds optimism!
MacD BengalFan
I may not have made my point very clear. So let me give it another try. I applaud Krivisky for making the moves he did and not standing pat on the cards he was dealt. He had no idea how it will turn out just was we didn't. It is obvious that Krivisky wanted to do what he felt was best for the team to win this season. But with the playoff hopes fading, all the moves he made appear all for naught. It looks like it will only produce nothing more then the Reds being mentioned in the same breath with Playoffs.
