derekshank
He said he's going to explain why it took him so long to buy into Carson Palmer on his radio show next hour. Check it out. I'm curious to hear why he wasn't a believer before... and what changed last night.
semiotter
Hey guys what you think of how Tony C. is doing on MNF? I think he is doing a great job and think they needed someone like this for along time..not to change the subject derek
ShulaSteakhouse
What kind of moron waits until "last night" to decide Palmer's a good/great QB? Geesh. As if he knows something no one else does. The guy led the league in TD passes and completion % last year as a 2nd year starter - for God's sake. There were very few people who didn't buy into Palmer last year. I want to hear what the revelation was last night. If nothing else... it's always good to hear a Bengal basher admit when he's wrong. All that said... I really like Cowherd. He's much more entertaining than most of what is on ESPN radio... so even though I don't always agree with him, he's just more fun to listen to. (but hey... that's just what entertains me). ArmyBengal
That's like Jaworski on ESPN picking the Ravens to win the AFCN and then last night saying, "I can change my mind, right?" after the Carson display of power !!!WHODEY !!! derekshank
Cowherd says he read too much into his early college years. He thought Palmer's senior year was more of the fluke because of the talent around him, and that his first 2 starting years were the real Carson Palmer.I guess because he was a USC fan, he just couldn't shake his memory of Palmer throwing more INT's than TD's his first couple years. But Cowherd finally admitted that "Last night, Palmer looked years ahead of Brett Favre."
WhoDey42
What kind of moron waits until "last night" to decide Palmer's a good/great QB?Colin Cowherd is the kind of moron that doesn't realize it until last night. I cant listen to his show anymore. Its not just the Bengal bashing that annoys me, its almost everything he says. He is so uninformed and clueless sometimes. For example, after Steinbach was arrested, he said "well, at least it's these no-names that wouldn't see any playing time anyway, at least its not the starters that are getting in trouble." Then some guy called in and called him out on it and said Steinbach isn't only a starter but he was a first alternate for the pro bowl. What did Colin do? hung up on him. marylandbengal
Cowherd is an idiot, but in my opinion Tony C is even worse. His inane comments last night confused me so much, I could barely keep a thought in my head. Among the most inane was his contiunous blathering on Carson's comment that it was "business as usual". Not only could Tony not believe it, he couldn't not believe it for the next hour and a half and wouldn't shut up about it. He 1) obviously doesnt know carson very well - Carson is always cool as a cucumber, and 2) everybody stopped caring about ten minutes after the Carson interview, so shut up. Why is Tony C liked? I personally think he's obnoxious as hell, and not any more insightful than any other less annoying announcer. (Actually, nevermind, I don't really care.) marylandbengal
let me make a correction. While i refuse to buy the hype about Kornheiser, Theisman is admittedly much worse. His comment about kick returners needing to be "short" was just short of insane, and Kornheiser rightly (and incredulously) called him on it. i had forgotten about this because i was still feeling the rapture from Carson's performance. Oldcat
I think Kornheiser and the other guy try and keep Thiesy focused on actual football plays, and strategies, where he's much less annoying. When he starts philosophising, or defending his favorite players, he grates. At least he doent have that Cow McGuire to play off of.I loved when they all thought the Bengals would throw a pass right away to prove something to an announcer. Don't they know Marvin? Anytime we get the ball in FG range, we are gonna smash it with Rudi once or twice. Bet on it. Its a football game, not a spectacle.
