As much as I'm a son of the Bluegrass...I just dont see Cincy drafting ANY QB unless:#1: We trade Kitna, which is still very much a possibility.#2: #1 scenario happens and Shane Matthews gets hit by a bus. Monreko Crittendon G Auburn-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------I agree with the quarterback pick, but probably don't have to draft one, since the class is so weak. Casey Clausen from Tenn. might not even get drafted. He'd be perfect as a # 3 guy . Quote

AGrizzlyBaer Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 Boulware i think will be gone in the second Quote
chrishcovga Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 Yeah, I think Boulware might be gone as well. To really fill the needs we have, we're gonna need to have New England give up #21, and # 32 to get our 17th to grab a runningback.-If that happens, we could get ....1(a).Randy Starks dt Maryland1(.Derrick Strait cb Oklahoma2. Dontarrious Thomas lb Auburn3(a)Matt Ware cb/s U.C.L.A.3(b)Michael Turner rb N.Illinois3©Alex Stepanovich g/c Ohio St.4.Richard Sieglar lb Oregon St.5.Marcell Almond cb U.S.C.6.Kris Wilson te Pittsburgh7.Casey Clausen qb TennesseeBut that would just be too much fun to have 6 first day picks. AGrizzlyBaer Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 wow that would be a great draft, but i dont see it happening, but we can dream cant we Quote

Man really....New England isnt gonna give up that many just to get our spot....I dont see it happening, especially since TB is before us...Theyd be better off giving them those picks to grab Jackson Quote
chrishcovga Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 Trading down isn't really an option if someone like Wilfork,Hall,Smith,Udeze,or Harris fell to that spot. But when we get on the clock, someone could just call N.E. saying, hey "Dallas wants to move up to get (such and such) they're offering (this and that) , are you interested in moving up..?? And what will you offer..??--- Nothing wrong with lying.-It's a necessity to the fabric of man! ----Like I said, just in case those 5 players aren't available, does trading down become an option. cover2 Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 Have the Bengals ever traded down? I doubt very seriously it will happen in 2004...........although, a good time to start. Quote
chrishcovga Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 Yes, they have Cover2. Most notably was the draft of 1984.That draft saw us land 3 first round players Pete Koch,Brian Blados, and Rickey Hunley. Cincy' traded down, not sure as to who (N.E.-maybe) and ended up with 3 first round picks in exchange. Quote

Arizona Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/6330687This link has a draft trade value table. From it you can see that NE wouldn't trade 21 and 32 for 17, 21 and 32 are worth the 8 or 9 overall pick. If you traded down with NE from 17 to 21 you would get a second rounder. Quote
chrishcovga Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 Arizona man..! What's with the bird carcass..?? I'm not a happy go lucky type, but It looks like you've got a scene from --Exxon Valdez "the movie" Quote
Kirkendall Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 Chris' mock draft is very good. He's created three of them; for each team.Going past the first round is a little ridiculous though. I mean how could anyone predict the first round, much less all seven rounds! Quote
chrishcovga Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 Give me a couple of days Kirk, I'm gonna do a 3 round mock.I'll even try to add the compensation picks.--Right now I don't see Cincy' landing Jake Grove c Virgina Tech.-- So I'm hoping that we could use that compensation pick to land Alex Stepanovich c Ohio St.* I know , the more Buckeyes' the merrier. cover2 Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 Thanks for reminding me Chris (the draft of 84) Blados was the only pick that played out. Koch had a teriffic athletic buildbut could not play a down of football, did make a movie with Clint Eastwood and Hunley pretty much wanted no part of Cincinnati, only later to be brought in last year as a coach for Marvin Lewis. It would be a wonderful to trade down. Let's do it again! But let's get it right!!! Quote
DuffMan Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 thehuddlereport.com has a 3 round mock that goes like this:1) Dunta Robinson2) Marcus Tubbs3) Jake Grovethey haven't added the extra 3rd rounder, but that alone would be a pretty solid haul. I'd like to see a LB or DE somewhere. Quote

Yeah, I think he's a good sleeper.....I think we could get him in the third round....I want Micheal Boulware from FSU in the second though, just my opinion Quote
