derekshank Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 In my opinion we have really good depth everywhere but TE and Safety. In fact, we're going to be cutting LB's and CB's that will almost certainly find a spot on another team's roster. But we still lack that receiving TE that a lot of fans crave, and I'm pretty frightened about running out KK or any of the other scrubs we have behind Madieu and Dexter. My vote goes to safety... but I imagine that a draft pick is the most likely scenario, especially since we used one of next year's already in Ahmad Brooks. richmond_mat Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 Kelly Washington has very little value. They couldn't trade him before the draft, they cannot trade hime now. The best they can hope for (IMHO) is a conditional draft pick. But my bet goes to the waiver wire. Quote
JaxonFord87 Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 I would say a low round draft pick, but only if washington does pretty good this year. Otherwise he isn't worth anything to anybody. Quote
CJBestInAFC Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 I say combo Washington with another player who will probably be cut or a player at lb that has some value but wont be playing much this year. The player that comes to mind is Caleb Miller. Package Washington and Miller together for a second or third round pick. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 I say we trade him for the runner up from "So You Think You Can Dance", two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun with fries and a large orange drink! Quote
GapControl Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 Why would a team trade for KW or Caleb Miller when the Bengals will be forced to cut their lowerend roster players? And if a team would make a trade for KW, it would be at best a 7th round draft pick. Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 It'll be ahrd to get a trade for him because it's completely possible he'll be cut and that team can get him without giving away anything. I'll say conditional seventh round pick Quote
HairOnFire Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 I'd settle for a draft pick. Any team that needs a veteran wideout this late is going to find the pickings pretty slim and fairly expensive, and Washington remains the most talented wideout likely to be moved for next to nothing. But for the Bengals to get anything in return Washington will have to return to practice, remain healthy, and perhaps be featured in one of the preseason games. Quote
rwalling Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 A fifth if I can get it, but I'd settle for a sixth round pick. Quote
DesperateDerelict Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 What do you want in return for KW?.......A fifth if I can get it..................I'd be happy with a shot & a beer Quote
Kazkal Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 crump from the falcons lolI'd be happy with 6th or 7th though lol we find some studs in the 2nd day picksI say combo Washington with another player who will probably be cut or a player at lb that has some value but wont be playing much this year. BlueResident Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 K.W. isn't worth much IMO, we'll be lucky to get anything for him Quote
ChadJohnson-85 Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 The best we'll get for KW is a 3rd round draft pick. Quote
derekshank Posted August 7, 2006 Author Report Posted August 7, 2006 The best we'll get for KW is a 3rd round draft pick.I'd be incredibly pleased with that. However, I'm not so sure that a team that is desperate for a WR that will probably be cutting a Safety anyway (the opposite situation we are in) might not see the benefit of making such a trade, rather than allowing for the possibility of other teams snatching him up.Think what you like about K Wash... but he'd be at worst the #2 receiver in San Diego. Unfortunately, they have no safeties to give.P.S. There are still some good safeties out there in FA like Lance Schulters, Ronnie Heard and Keion Carpenter. Anyone think we would consider offering any of these guys a contract? Quote

Stripes Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 I'd take the draft pick... it can be used for depth at any position. I doubt we'll get anything better than a 4th though, and probably not even that. Quote

KiLBurn Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 I'd pretty much take what we could get for him... It's almost written in stone that he isn't going to be on the roster come final cut-down. The last few WR slots are going to make it due to special teams, which Washington doesn't play. Quote

aaronburr Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 I'd take a 5th round pick. Or One Red Paperclip. But seriously, who trades for players that are about to get cut? Is anybody high on the waiver list that desperate? Quote
Spor_tees Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 What you guys are failing to realize is, if a team trades for KW now, they are guarenteed to get him for the contract he is in now. If they wait til he gets cut, they get into a bidding war with other teams and are not guarenteed to get him to sign with their team. Quote
