walshfan
Was wondering what allot of you thought about certain players and if they'll be productive or not..Ben Wilkerson..very good college player.. kind of soft and not too strong.. weight room material. Is he the center of the future or is it Bluto ( Ghiachic )??? Whats he have over Bluto that would give him the edge anyway?Adam Kieft...is this guy a backup for the future? I know about the knee and all but he seemed kind ofrobotic before he was injured...big and slow....Aside from being huge whats he got that the team likes?Greg Brooks....all Ive heard for 2 years is that Lewis likes this kid... he's hardly played due to injuries. What are the intangibles the team sees in him... just speed?Eric Meyer... Is this the third stringer of the future?? I know he's hurt right now but looking at what he brings to the table he seems to have the ability to lead a team if need be..Whats something you dont like about this kid aside that he's small school?... practice squad or will a team claim him?Eric Henderson... wasnt even drafted... just because of a big toe injury??.. must be more than that as there werer players that were hurt that at least were drafted... reports are he's quick and active.. gets to the Qb and has lots of tackles for losses on his resume... what's the deal with him.. why not at least drafted?????Do any or all of these guys make it, practice squad or outright released to catch on with someone else? HoosierCat
Going into the draft last year Wilkerson was a consensus top 3 center, while Bluto ranked something like 15th. The 64k question is his knee. If it's 100% then I would expect him to eventually claim the starter's job.Keift has a similar issue with his knee injury. If healthy he should be able to challenge for a backup role, but his progress from all reports has been slow.Brooks -- who knows? Personally I'll be surprised if he survives the final cut.I have a feeling that Doug Johnson will get the ax so they can keep McNeal, which might leave Meyer out in the cold. OTOH they could reverse that. And there's always the extra QB spot on the PS that either of them could technically fill.Henderson wasn't drafted because the league has become incredibly injury shy over the last few drafts. I think he'll make the squad.
WretchedOne
Henderson - Missed games in 04 and 05 due to injury. Then broke his large toe working out and didn't perform at the combine and was still injured at the time of the draft....and was on the field for us in less than 2 weeks after we signed him.Unfortunately, Joisey is 1000% accurate about how the NFL views certian injured players. aaronburr
Brooks is supposed to be the best cover CB among the non-starters.Meyer will be #3 if he's healthy.Henderson gets the Ronnie Ghent treatment.
ArmyBengal
The only one of those that I consider, not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of depth or future starter is Brooks. All the rest are more than solid and I really want to see what Henderson is capable of if he regains his health !!!WHODEY !!!
BengalChamps
I dont believe that any of these guys start or make significant contributions to the Bengals or any NFL team.
BlueResident
all of these guys futures are in the air...they all seem to have talent and could possibly contribute to a team MAYBE...I'm not sure what team that would be, but I'm not sure if it will be the bengals
bengalsfansince68
I dont believe that any of these guys start or make significant contributions to the Bengals or any NFL team. Here's a guy who knows all!I do not. I was, however, scouting centers the best I could by watching a few college games that year.I have never really seen a center pancake his man and run ten yards and flatten another the way Ben Wilkerson did a few times. The combine report on Eric Meyers was glowing.I am excited about all the young guys.I prefer to be optimistic and leave the pessimism of the last 15 years in the past. You might think of trying that Mr. BengalChamps
Spain
Kefy nad Ghicuac are very good young playas, wilkerson might not make the team. Brooks and Meyers will get caught by the nimbers game-
The_Next_Big_Thing
Keift might not make the squad. If his knee isn't 100% right, he's gone.
skyline
I have a feeling that Doug Johnson will get the ax so they can keep McNeal, which might leave Meyer out in the cold.I've been wondering about McNeal. I haven't heard much about him since training camp opened...
