Kazkal
Thurman arrivesBy GEOFF HOBSONJuly 31, 20062:40 p.m.GEORGETOWN, Ky. _ Middle linebacker Odell Thurman arrived here at training camp Monday, according to his agent. Listed as the fourth team middle linebacker, it’s unclear if he’ll practice Monday night but agent Safarrah Lawson said his client is ready to go.Lawson said that last Friday, but Thurman didn't show up for training camp on Saturday because of family issues and drew the wrath of head coach Marvin Lewis."It's a non-factor. We expect him here. If you want to be in charge of him you're welcome,” Lewis said. “He's dealing with some things with his family and they'd asked if he was allowed to do this. There's no pressing need for him to be here."Although Thurman is eligible to practice and play in games all during preseason before his four-game suspension begins Sept. 4, Lewis warned this could be a year-long status because the team has the discretion on how to use him.Law has indicated for the past week that Thurman is healthy enough to practice and actually is heavier than he was last year at this time at 240 pounds. How far back is Thurman? He's behind starter Brian Simmons and No. 2 Ahmad Brooks, selected 13 days ago in the supplemental draft. He's also behind another in fifth-rounder and third-teamer A.J. Nicholson.
The_Next_Big_Thing
He's only behind them because he's suspended. The depth chart changes after his suspension.

Who ever said he had lost any weight? Yuo guys really need to check yourselves once in a while...It was Ahman Brooks (Supp draft out of UVA ), not Odell, who was rumored to have ballooned to 290 this spring (and admits that he exceeded 280)
Stripes
There was also a completely stupid rumor out there that Odell had lost a lot of weight due to his addiction to crystal meth.

ArmyBengal
What, no meth addiction ?? Crazy people asking for links to rumors suck huh ?? He must of gotten help from Arrington who we got this offseason right ?? What ?? Arrington plays for NY ?? Dang, they must have told Arrington he really wasn't a Bengal and let that secret out of the bag... WHODEY !!
bengalboomer7
My thoughts really aren't with Odell right now. I'm taking Marvin's approach, he's a non factor, wo why make a big deal out of him. I can tell you his football career is hanging by a thread and I'm not holding my breath for the Odell we got last year.

rob_justdmb
All Odell jerseys are on the clearance rack in the pro shop. I went there today to pick up a new media guide. Even his authentic. His authentic is the only one on the clearance rack.
Kazkal
I'd buy one.
kingwilly
...every so often McDonald's brings back the McRib...and I buy one of those, too.If Odell is suffering some sort of issue, he should take the time he needs(and not miss any drug tests). This would be for his own betterment and that of the team. If he has played his last down as a Bengal, that would make me sad but hopefully would mean he gets a chace to get his life togeter and beat whatever demons haunt him. At this point there would have to be several injuries in front of him to make this a meaningful year. Otherwise, he's getting his life on back on track and working for next year. Spor_tees
Well it's hard to afford a drug habit when you are losing $16,000 a day in fines.
