Chad Johnson argues with Deangelo Hall

Hall vs Johnson on radio

Interesting radio interview with Deangelo Hall and Chad Johnson. Both talked about how great they are and how they were going to embarass the other guy. Chad got pissed and called Hall a "nigg#*"

Listen if you dare, but you'll hear two guys brag about how great they are and argue back and forth.

DeAngelo Hall is nothing more than another Deltha O'Neal wannabe.

Nice audio piece. I like the little dig at the end as well with Hall poking fun at the Steelers dbs. And then they joke about how in the world a team wins a championship with Ike Taylor and Deshea Townsend at CB. That's a question I have as well. Speaks highly of how LeBeau is so good at defensive calls. And they are going to try to repeat that stunt again in '06. It will not happen. By week 6 you will be hearing cries about how bad that secondary is. Bring it.

Nice clip.

Ike Taylor covered Chad Johnson all 3 games last year... Johnson said "he made me dig deep into my bag of tricks, which is very good for a CB" Johnson had nothing but respect for Taylor, who held him to 0 td's and under 100 yards per game.

Townsend is a decent veteran, but will probably be a back-up to their 2nd round pick last year in Bryant Mcfadden. They may not be big names, but they are a solid secondary. Better than what the Ravens or Browns have out there.

I recalled Taylor having a bit of help out there. Is my memory failing me - how many times did he ever go 1-on-1? Playing blanket coverage is easier when you know you have good safeties behind you.

Chad was on NFL Network last night for Bengals cam from G-Town. He had a couple more jabs for D Hall but I was glad to hear he's already shifting his focus to Ty Law and Patrick Surtain. Sounded rough though...something about breaking the law and pulling the curtain on Surtain.

Maybe it's time for some more Pepto -- cherry flavored this time with Law, Surtain and Sammy Knight all getting a bottle and a note that guarantees they'll need the extra flavor to help swallow what happens after an afternoon of dealing with 85. :bengal:

Just so long as Chad don't eff with Rodney Harrison because he will go out of his way to cram Chad's grill to the base of his brain.

That Pepto stunt was the only one I didn't care for from Chad and will be real happy to never see it again. Celebrate all you want, AFTER THE FACT !!! Chad is going to have a more difficult time with the KC secondary than he thinks and if Palmer isn't in there, it could get hairy for him quick !!!

WHODEY !!!

Sorry, I'm just too old school to like this sorta stuff. Why provide your opponent with more motivation? Chad has been calling out DeAngelo Hall for months now....which is overkill in my book.

And for all of the talk about how it's in good fun it seems to me that we've seen several examples where the defensive players haven't taken it that way, and too often the end result has been a Bengal loss quickly followed by a Chadwickian meltdown. (The Pepto Game. The Jaguar game.)

This isn't leadership.

I tend to agree that pinpointing CB's doesn't really work out. Either 85 gets double-covered and then has to sound weak by saying something like "he didn't cover me alone" or they switch back & forth and then the guy named isn't really the one that gets burned. Whatever (?), I don't really like calling out guys in general -- it seems a little too much of an F/U move. That said, if anybody is the CJ of defensive backs it's DHall. For a decent CB, that guy has a bit too much mouth. I know that's what they do, but I couldn't be less interested with this back & forth "smack." It's lame.

EDIT: Oh yeah -- and SteelerBillyBob, please your CB's are not better than McAllister & Rolle.

I'm not quite qualified to call myself "old school," but otherwise I agree. I don't really see any good that can come from this from a team standpoint. You either fire up the CB into playing a better game, or you make everyone laugh and don't change the game at all. When Chad and Carson went to Indy last season to study the Colts, Chad should have paid closer attention to Marvin Harrison.

I don't really mind all the goofy celebrations, but I could do without this other stuff.
