Dadraftnick
The Bengals have 2 National TV pre-season games.I dont know if someone has posted this subject or not but, I bring it up because Marvin has told Carson that he must play in 2 pre season games in order to start the regular season. There is a 99% chance that the 2 pre season games that Carson plays in will be the National TV games. That said, here is the pre season schedule:2006 NFL preseason scheduleAll times are Eastern Daylight TimeHall of Fame weekendSunday, Aug. 6Hall of Fame Game: Oakland vs. Philadelphia at Canton, Ohio, 8 p.m. (NBC)Week OneThursday, Aug. 10Cleveland at Philadelphia, 7:30 p.m.Indianapolis at St. Louis, 8 p.m. (Fox)Friday, Aug. 11Denver at Detroit, 7:30 p.m.New York Jets at Tampa Bay, 7:30 p.m.New England at Atlanta, 8 p.m. (CBS)New York Giants at Baltimore, 8 p.m.Chicago at San Francisco, 10 p.m.Saturday, Aug. 12Pittsburgh at Arizona, 4 p.m.Buffalo at Carolina, 7:30 p.m.Jacksonville at Miami, 7:30 p.m.Kansas City at Houston, 8 p.m.New Orleans at Tennessee, 8 p.m.Dallas at Seattle, 10 p.m.Green Bay at San Diego, 10 p.m.Sunday, Aug. 13Washington at Cincinnati, 8 p.m. (NBC)Monday, Aug. 14Oakland at Minnesota, 8 p.m. (ESPN)Week TwoThursday, Aug. 17Kansas City at New York Giants, 8 p.m. (Fox)Philadelphia at Baltimore, 8 p.m.Friday, Aug. 18Cincinnati at Buffalo, 7 p.m.Detroit at Cleveland, 7:30 p.m.San Diego at Chicago, 8 p.m. (CBS)Saturday, Aug. 19Carolina at Jacksonville, 7:30 p.m.Miami at Tampa Bay, 7:30 p.m.Arizona at New England, 8 p.m. (NFL Network)Atlanta at Green Bay, 8 p.m.Houston at St. Louis, 8 p.m.Minnesota at Pittsburgh, 8 p.m.New York Jets at Washington, 8 p.m.Tennessee at Denver, 9 p.m.Sunday, Aug. 20Seattle at Indianapolis, 8 p.m. (NBC)San Francisco at Oakland, 8 p.m.Monday, Aug. 21Dallas vs. New Orleans at Shreveport, La., 8 p.m. (ESPN)Week ThreeThursday, Aug. 24Miami at Carolina, 8 p.m. (Fox)Friday, Aug. 25Pittsburgh at Philadelphia, 8 p.m. (ESPN)Arizona at Chicago, 8 p.m.Baltimore at Minnesota, 8 p.m.New York Giants at New York Jets, 8 p.m.Detroit at Oakland, 10 p.m.Saturday, Aug. 26Cleveland at Buffalo, 6 p.m.Indianapolis vs. New Orleans at Jackson, Miss., 7 p.m.Tampa Bay at Jacksonville, 8 p.m. (CBS)Atlanta at Tennessee, 8 p.m.San Francisco at Dallas, 8 p.m.Washington at New England, 8 p.m.St. Louis at Kansas City, 8:30 p.m.Seattle at San Diego, 11 p.m.Sunday, Aug. 27Houston at Denver, 8 p.m. (NFL Network)Monday, Aug. 28Green Bay at Cincinnati, 8 p.m. (ESPN)Week FourThursday, Aug. 31Buffalo at Detroit, 7:30 p.m.Carolina at Pittsburgh, 7:30 p.m.Jacksonville at Atlanta, 7:30 p.m.New England at New York Giants, 7:30 p.m.St. Louis at Miami, 7:30 p.m.Baltimore at Washington, 8 p.m.Chicago at Cleveland, 8 p.m.Minnesota at Dallas, 8 p.m.Tampa Bay at Houston, 8 p.m.New Orleans at Kansas City, 8:30 p.m.Denver at Arizona, 10 p.m.Oakland at Seattle, 10 p.m.Friday, Sept. 1Tennessee at Green Bay, 4 p.m.Cincinnati at Indianapolis, 7 p.m.Philadelphia at New York Jets, 7 p.m.San Diego at San Francisco, 10 p.m.Related Links:2006 NFL regular-season scheduleApril 6, 2006
derekshank
He has pretty much said he won't play in the first two. I'm expecting him to play a limited amount in the GB game, and then for a drive or two against back-ups in the Colts game. That's just my guess though. derekshank
We'll see. I imagine most of his action will be against GB if he's going to start against KC. Maybe the first half? Then he'll go in for a couple of drives in Indy to keep the rust off... but the 4th pre-season game is the game you play back-ups almost the entire time, so I wouldn't expect him in there for more than a quarter. ChadJohnson-85
Aint Carson supposed to get only 20 snaps in the entire Pre-Season?
andybren
There is a 99% chance that the 2 pre season games that Carson plays in will be the National TV games. This doesn't make sense. Especially considering that the televised games are #1 (Washington) and #3 (Green Bay). You really think Marvin cares about TV ratings when getting his team (and QB) ready for the regular season? Aint Carson supposed to get only 20 snaps in the entire Pre-Season?This also doesn't make sense. First of all, 20 snaps is an arbitrary number. What if he runs a 10 play drive on the first possession of Game 1? Do you hold him out the next 2, and play him in Game 4 so he's not rusty for KC?Second, this isn't a normal situation, where the starting QB is well-established and needs to be held out for his own protection. Carson is going to need pre-season snaps as part of his rehabilitation. If Marvin holds Carson back in the preseason, it's because he doesn't intend to start him Week 1. Not good in my book.
