This item, to me, indicatesthat they refuse to believe that an effective, pass-cathcing TE will add anything to the offense. i think this is a big mistake.

As far as who would you prefer to be catching the football, your tight end or your stud receievers? DUH! With the number of weapons we have on the offense, we dont' really have enough balls to throw to the tight end much. Jeremi Johnson, Chris Perry, Rudi Johnson, Chad Johnson, TJ Alphabet, etc. are plenty of targets for Carson.

Sure, in the middle of the field, you're not usually throwing to the TE on this team. However, goal line we could really use a guy who is big, tall, and can use his body to keep defenders away from balls. TJ is pretty good at that, but we need someone who can get interfered with by a safety and still catch the ball.

Or, if you really don't plan on throwing to the TE at all, put Whitworth in a #80-something jersey and run off tackle(s) all day long.
