schnarfer
I obviosly will not name names, but it was told to me that although there is consideration of letting henery be the scapegoat of this contoversial offseason, the bengals are not nieve enough to let odell go anywhere. They realize what they have and he realizes he made his biggest mistake to date...(not taking a drug test when he had to) but they will move on. Odell is going to be a top tier linebacker in the nfl... So all the people that are taking "Lance's" sources should realize that lance is a jackoff and wants to be a gossiping b!tch rather than some one to give us knowledge about the situation...Use your head people...we may get rid of our 3rd string wr but we are not foolish enough to get rid of odell..sleep easy bengalworld..odell is starting game 5..... kingwilly
I'd be surprised if, coming off a 4 game suspension, ML is just going to hand the start back to OT... I think he'll be riding pine beyond the 4 games...he may get on the field but starting?? doubt it.

It would take some of the steam out of the media beating the Bengals are taking.
Larry
Doesn't failing to take a test get the same punishment? Are we going to think that he would have passed if he had taken it.... come on guys, we all know that a test failed to take is a test that would not have been passed...So it won't help the media beating that much

Sure, I imagine 2 is better than 3, but not much. Especially considering that he probably missed the last one because he would have failed it; surely not even Odell would skip a drug test if he was clean when the result would be a 4-game suspension. bengal4life
I was looking on bengals.com. While searching through the Pro Shop I found the Jersey that Lance was saying was on sale. It was a chase replica jersey. TJ had one on sale too. Does this mean we're kicking TJ off the team too? Lance is an idiot he didn't even think about what he was saying he just saw the jersey on sale and immediately went to his blog. Do a little research assbag. He will get more than his fair share of snaps after the suspension, but not the start. Well, fo r at least a little while.WHODEY !!!
Spor_tees
Well after 2 failed tests, don't they start giving tests weekly to players? If he failed/missed 2 test already, he is going to have to extremely change his ways or become very more responsible, or his next failed/missed test will result in a Ricky Williams vacation! Obviously that isn't something that I want to see, but that has to be something on the minds of the Bengals organization.
The_Next_Big_Thing
Whether Odell starts right away depends on more than just the suspension. If Simmons isn't getting it done, or Landon isn't getting it done, do you really think ML will keep Odell benched and not throw him in right away to WIN? I sure don't. If there are injuries and we need him in there, he will be in there. If he's better in practice, he'll get the start.Marvin won't punish him beyond the leagues punishment for the crime. That would be like your boss telling you you aren't allowed to go to lunch because you were on house arrest for a month. But you aren't allowed to go to lunch for another six weeks afterwards. It would be dumb.

ThortonMelon
Another factor that will play into whether Odell starts in game 5 is the fact that the bye week falls between games 4 and 5. Marvin will have 2 weeks to work Odell back into the system if he wants to.

However, the coachings staff aren't parents either. They are bosses and teachers, not parents. What happens off the field is, for the most part, not their damned business. HairOnFire
Doesn't failing to take a test get the same punishment? Are we going to think that he would have passed if he had taken it.... come on guys, we all know that a test failed to take is a test that would not have been passed... Actually, we don't know that. If you recall, one of the major points associated with the rumor that Thurman was going to be suspended was the incredible number of fines he had received last year for being late to meetings, practices, and just about everything. So how big a stretch is it to assume that the missed tests were simply another link in the same chain? Best, the idea that the suspension was a result of a missed test, not a failed one, has been made from the very start. If true the anger and finger pointing woud have to be taken down a notch because we wouldn't be talking about thugs on drugs. We'd be talking about tardiness. Besides, it when it comes to dealings with the media the Bush administration has taught us that truthiness doesn't count for much. The only thing that matters in the end is plausible deniability. And for the record, that last one was just for Kirk.

He hears something from a good source and reports it. Unfortunately, it's not what everyone wants to hear sometimes. Cut the guy a break! kingwilly
What is odd is the frequency of their occurrence. Yes, other Pro teams have players who do stupid things...yes, it happens, but not at the rate and frequency that we've jsut seen.I refuse to judge these issues solely on how many, "Days in Jail" it turns out to be. Doing so ignores that fact that there is behavior and tendencies that conspire to impede the progress of the team. It is the distraction, hassle, baby-sitting, annoyance, disturbance to team chemistry caused by these "gambles" that raise the cost beyond jsut "how many days in jail"...
