Dan2330 Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Good: The high school autistic kid winning the award for 'Best Performance'- hell of a speech he gave alsoUsual: Steelers winning something they don't deserve. Yea, I get it, the fans vote, but just how many Steeler fans have no life that they can sit on ESPN.com all day and pound away for the Steelers for 'Best Team'. By far the 'Best Team' last year was the Chicago White Sox, just look at the stats starting with the fact that the Sox won their divison. They also ran it wire to wire, broke the MLB record for most games with a lead, and they were 11-1 in the postseason. Ugly: Dudes, your indoors, lose the freaking shades, LeBron, that whole New Orleans basketball team, Bettis (damn man didn't you retire already- go away!). And someone tell Matthew McConaughey you were not at your neighbors bbq, that shirt looked like you rolled out of bed in it- putting something decent on. Bad: ESPN- Do something with this show. This is your so-called prime time big awards show, so handle it as such. Make it like the damn Oscars, have red carpet preshow, put the show back in Vegas where it belongs, and please go back to do a live showing. It was pretty obvious by your commericals starting last Thursday of Big Ben on stage that the Steelers were going to win 'Team Of Year'. On a side note, anyone notice just how only a 'few' select Steeler players were invited, of the players they had on stage one is retired and the other doesn't even play for them anymore- nothing like bringing the whole team. Stripes Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 The ESPY's suck. I'd have thought a sports channel wouldn't fall into this lame awards show fad sweeping basic cable, but I thought wrong. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 I don't even bother anymore... It's just not worth my time...WHODEY !!! Quote
