Simmons to middle?

Recommended Posts

The Bengals wouldn’t comment on the Thurman story, although they clearly prepared for the possibility when they put Brian Simmons at middle linebacker for the first time since 2002 in last month’s minicamp that Thurman missed because of “personal reasons.”

Brian has had some of his better season's at middle l/b spot . I'm comfortable with him playing there . losing Odell for the 4 games will have some effect but not as much as people think . we are stacked at l/b .

Yeah, at least he'll be back when we v.s. the Patriots.

Pollack, Simmons, and Johnson for the 1st four games doesn't bother me near the amount that "will Carson start game one" does !!! Odell is still allowed to practice with the team and will be fine. All anyone can do, is hope he doesn't mess up again...

WHODEY !!!

I also don't have a problem with BSims playing MLB it can't be any worse than him playing WLB...CMiller playing days maybe over with da Bengals, I have not heard him being mentioned to play any LB position...

Agreed. I think even with Simmons in there the loss of Odell hurts our run defense a tad, but Simmon's is more than a viable replacement.

I like the move as well... Simmons has certainly lost a step, and that can obviously be a noteable problem on the outside. Landon is more familiar with OLB than MLB, and this seems like the best way to utilize the players available.

David Pollack is going to step it up either way, and I can't fuggin' wait to see him out there.

I don't think Caleb's all that bad... He just needs to stop getting hurt. I thought he was a solid player when he was actually playing.

I agree, I just like picking on him ever since he went from the hobbit hair style to the female rock star look...

I would love to see him get at it out there !!!

WHODEY !!!

I wanted to keep Caleb but it just doesn't look like it will happen inless he can earn the last backer spot as a special teamer ( I see him, jeanty and wilkins all going for it)
