jditty47
Heres my idea of what needs to be done to fix the reds...Trade larue, ross has done a ton better job and him and valentin are more than capable of holding it down. we should be able to get some kind of prospects or a pitcher for him. Trade dunn...definately should help our rotation out on that one. those are the only 2 we can pretty much move besides some pitchers perhaps. one good trade and we have a chance to stay in the race for the playoffs all year. dunn has shown some good things over the past week...dont let that cloud ur judgement when u think about if hes worth trading. we need a better middle reliever and another starter to our rotation desperately. larue needs to be gone for sure though.. cincy9275
yes i think we should be shopping kerns, dunn and larue. if this team wants to stay in contention we are going to have to get some bullpen help the guys are just awful . after today guys like weathers belisle mecker and the rest of the garbage so be shown the door this is unacceptable . management must step up and get this under control or just bring up some young arms and let them play . they could not do any worse then these sorry waste of roster spaces . Stripes
Dunn and LaRue have to go, but I hope we keep Kearns. He looks like he can be a consistent contributor now that he's healthy. The other two could go a long way in bolstering the pitching.
MacD BengalFan
Dunn needs to go as he either strikes out or hits it out. No in-between. We should go after either Dontrell or Smoltz. Both are proven starters with Smoltz being a proven closer as well. And Smoltz has said he is willing to be traded if it helps the Braves. And yes, a middle reliever would be good as well as this has been the problem with the Reds being only 6 games over .500. They have blown countless games when they have inherited the lead. If the Reds had better middle relief, they may just be leading the division by 3 or games. I just hope that Kriv and Jerry can pull something together and salvage what could become another typical Reds fad in the heat of the summer and Playoff Race. AGrizzlyBaer
dunn does three things well he strikes out, hits hr, or walks. i believe he is near leading all three.
semiotter
Are starters(most of them) are fine. And I think the REG. line up is great, even Dunn. I dont know why some of you dont want him. But anyway, are Bullpen sucks. That is why we arent in 1st place. Because you know St. Louis isnt going to keep on losing like they are kinda of doing now. I like the idea of trading Larue if we can get something for him. We wont get Willis OR Smoltz you know where they are going (Yankees, Boston, W. Sox) somebody thats in the hunt. We are in the hunt but never seem to get the 1st tier pitcher. But maybe are luck will change with this new mangament. Hang in there fans we might get lucky.... redsfan2
I'm kind of back and forth on Dunn. ( kinda like Simmons ) He shows the flashes and you know he's going to breakl out ........ and then he goes into another slump. Narron is right about him... he'll probably have some pretty good numbers at the end of the season but he's just not that impact player that you need when the game is on the line ( the 2 homers not withstanding ) .Never been a big Larue fan, and it wouldn't keep me up at night if they traded him. I'm getting to the point that I don't give a rats patoot who it is as long as they get the help they need.
ArmyBengal
Don't care either way about Dunn, but agree with the arguments about his inconsistencies. I've been saying forever about Larue and his unique ability to suck more ass than most players in the league... What can you get in trade for a walking turd ???WHODEY !!! semiotter
plus another thing guys, there is so many teams still in the hunt I dont think there will be much to chose from.

I could handle Larue before, but that was because there was no better option (Sort of like Bush, but that's for another forum)... What really threw me over the top was when I went to the opener of the last Astros series in Houston and when Larue's stats were put up on the scoreboard, the place just erupted in a collective laugh !!! I couldn't say anything either... God he blows monkey nuts !!!WHODEY !!!
Spor_tees
I think LaRue means "The Suck" in French...but I'm not for sure because I can't remember anything out of my 4 years of French class in High School.
skyline
I prefer Ross as well, but has there been any news on his injury?
ArmyBengal
Good question Skyline, I'll have to look into that one at some point today. I'll let you know, unless someone beats me to it...WHODEY !!!
ArmyBengal
I prefer Ross as well, but has there been any news on his injury? This is what I found today !!!Meanwhile, Jason LaRue started in place of David Ross at catcher, as Ross continues to rest his strained lower abdominal muscle. He is listed as day-to-day. "We're going to see how [Ross] feels swinging the bat," Narron said. "And then we're going to go from there."Taken from the Cincinnatireds.com site...WHODEY !!! Stripes
anyone notice that Larue's batting avg has now slipped to a sub-200 stellar .195!!! Why didn't we trade HIM?! Well, probably because he sucks and every other team knows it.
semiotter
I think yesterdays trade was more peices of the puzzle we need to get into to the playoffs....And I dont think they are done yet.
ArmyBengal
It's not the first time this season Jason "I suck monkey nuts" Larue has been sub .200 in BA... He's f*cking sorry !!!WHODEY !!!
Stripes
I'm not sure I'd take Ross over Valentin quite yet. Ross has been awesome this season, no doubt, but I always have to wait and see consistency before I'm a believer. I think having those two in a rotation would be great. Ross has been awesome this season, no doubt, but I always have to wait and see consistency before I'm a believer. I think having those two in a rotation would be great. The only thing I'll say to that is, Valentin must be hurt because Larue (Monkey nut blower) has started 5 games in a row and if Valentin can't start over someone with a sub .200 BA, something is very wrong. I like Ross the most !!!WHODEY !!!
