ArmyBengal
Playing the Astros starting tonight and then go into St. Louis after that. This could be huge in a good or bad way depending on the outcome. Harang is pitching tonight, so hopefully Mrs. ArmyBengal and I can bring back a winner from Houston !!! Have a good one and GO REDS !!!WHODEY !!!
Stripes
Considering our showing against the Cubs, I can't help but grimace. Still, the Reds tend to be unpredictable in good and bad ways, so who knows.
bengalboomer7
I'm really nervous. After the good start, I told myself I'd religiously follow them unless they fell below .500. Well, it's getting close and here's a stretch that could just make or break us for the division.
jditty47
reds will not win the division...get ur hopes up. im a huge reds fan but u can see they still need alot of work...the pitching staff is so inconsistent for us to make it at this point. but who knows about these upcoming series...we could win em, we did well vs them already. Stripes
Whaddya know... We scored 5 runs in the first inning.
jditty47
on again off again hitting as well. we either blow em out or lose by 1.
bengalboomer7
Yup, the pitching has actually been more consistent. Griffey is really starting to look good. 15 RBI's the last 12games
ArmyBengal
Well, back from Houston and brought back the winner as well !!! They are still up tonight as well. Arroyo 3-3 hitting is unreal !!!Few thoughts...Houston has dumped a buttload of money back into that city and it is beautiful !!! We stayed right in downtown, walking distance to the ballpark... Minute Maid is an awesome park. When we got there, the retractable roof was closed. A storm moved into the area and they closed the dome during the game. That was cool to see. After the game was over and the storm moved on, they pulled the dome back, turned out every light in the place and had a huge fireworks display from the top of the ballpark. We had great seats and had a great time !!! The fans were really cool and Mrs. ArmyBengal and I came away VERY impressed with the whole weekend. On a side note, for you guys that wear flipflops (I don't like them at all)... If you work all day long in shoes and socks or worse boots, please wash your d*mn feet before throwing on your flipflops and heading out on the town. The funk won't magically disappear because air hits your dogs !!! The guy next to us was so bad, I actually asked him to take his feet off the railing because it was making me sick (AND I'M A MEDIC FOR CHRIST'S SAKE !!!)... Moral to the story, wash your dogs you nasty f*ckers !!!I'm headed to Syracuse, NY tomorrow morning for the next week so you guys have a good Sunday !!!WHODEY !!! Stripes
Oh yeah, Jason LaRue SUCKS BALLS !!!WHODEY !!! And he's the fourth highest paid player on the team! He's behind only Milton , Griffey , and Dunn . Aaron freaking Harang has a higher batting average than LaRue.
AGrizzlyBaer
lets go take three from the pujols less cards
Stripes
After getting our first sweep in Minute Maid Field EVER, I'd love to get a sweep at the new Busch this time around. I have a feeling they'll be tougher than the Astros were, even without Pujols.Claussen is going tonight, I believe... He's due a non-crappy start sometime soon. ArmyBengal
Quick reply from here in New York...Here's hoping the Reds continue the streak and can make up some ground against the Cards without Pulmyhose...WHODEY !!!
redsbengalsbucks
Good start in St. Loius, hoping for that sweep without PooHoles in for them. Seems like every time we face the cards we get there aces against our #4 or #5 pitcher. The Dodgers have dropped 2 in a row and the Reds are now in the lead for the wildcard at least. jditty47
claussen about ready to go back to the minors? or the bullpen?
Stripes
claussen about ready to go back to the minors? or the bullpen? I wish. I don't know if we have anyone better to take his place though. I am certainly sick of watching Claussen... If he isn't giving up six runs in the first two innings, he is giving up four in the 5th. He is not a good pitcher. redsbengalsbucks
Get the brooms out.Sweep the astros and the cards in back to back series, hell yea!On to the cubbies.
bengalboomer7
ALLRIGHT, LET'S GO REDS.Two sweeps of division opponents. I know it's early in the year, but I really expected these two series to end the perverbial season for the Reds. Now, if by any chance we win the division or get the wild card, I'll point back to these last six games. The longer I get to ride the wave, the more satisfied about the season I'll be! GO REDS!! San Antonio Bengal
Not only did the Reds sweep the Astros and the Cardinals back to back, but they did it on the road! One of the more interesting statistics is the record that the Reds have against the rest of the NL Central. The Reds are 24 - 12 within in the division. The next best divisional records are the Cubs and Astros at 15 - 13 and 13 - 12 respectively.
Stripes
In fact, if George Grande had it right, the Reds have the best in-division record in all of MLB.Remember back when we had the best record in the majors for a day or two? We're creeping up on that once again. I'm geniunely suprised.Let's go clobber the Cubbies while they're down.
ArmyBengal
One down, three to go !!! They showed the game on WGN down here yesterday and will show Sunday's game as well !!! I'll take what I'm given on that one. Hoping to catch a game while home on leave the end of June... GO REDS !!!WHODEY !!!
jditty47
lost 2 in a row now to the cubbies...need tomorrows game to split the 4 game set. claussen pitched good but was in too long. shoulda pulled him after 6.
ArmyBengal
Sweep the Stros IN Houston, sweep the Cardinals IN St. Louis, and then manage to drop two in a row at home to the stinkin Cubbies.... AAAARRRRRRRGGGGGG !!!!!! Hope for the split today !!!WHODEY !!!
PMThor
What the Hell?Lose three out of four to the second to last team? 26K in attendance? Half the place was Cubs fans.I went, had a great time sitting in the Machine Room, but COME ON! Where in the Hell are the fans? Dammit this town is pissing me off. ArmyBengal
Funny you say that PM... I was thinking the same thing last year when I came home and the so called fans acted like I was an interuption to their conversation when I was cheering for the Bengals during the game. People are definitely strange !!! I know that's probably not the norm, but it is definitely weird...WHODEY !!!
