I must say that looks like the most f*cking retarded idea for a movie I think I've ever seen. Well maybe not "ever", but seriously, I have to think Samuel L. Jackson must need some cash to take an ignorant looking role like that. I could be proved wrong and the movie might win a record number of Oscars, but it screams box office blunder !!!

Hell, I bet 99.9% of the people on this board could come up with a better idea for a movie (Even Spain)...

I left the .1% open for the Steelers fans of this site... :P

I dont know. I can kinda see this movie being huge. I can see it turning into one of those cult movies that everyone goes to see. I don't think its meant to be completely serious. The wikipedia page for it says "Though officially designated as action/horror, there has been speculation that the film is actually intended to be a dark, absurdist, or surreal comedy, and destined to become a cult film."

I know I'll definatly go out and see it. Seriously, how are you gonna pass up a movie called "Snakes on a Plane"?!?

I would have to agree with ArmyBengal on this one. I think the greatest movie of 2006 will be Pirates of the Caribbean 2.

But isn't the greatest movie ever made Airborne? After all, it was filmed in Hamilton and Cincy!

Snakes on a Plane is becoming a cult classic before it's even shown. Most cult classics have to bomb first, but not this one. Sure, it's not going to be the big smash, but I think it will recieve a decent showing just because of all the publicity, merchandising, etc. The movie is meant to be dumb. And Samuel L. Jackson took the role he did precisely because of the name. In fact, one he joined up with the movie, someone tried to change the name to something more bland, and Jackson gave them a piece of his mind and they changed the title back to Snakes on a Plane.

i hate snakes. i will not watch this movie. samuel l jackson is doing like most actors later in their career, take on alot of movies to make alot of money, mostly crappy movies.

PS freedomland sucked.

Samuel L. Jackson might be my favorite actor. He can take even the stupidest of plotlines and make an awesome movie out of it.

Snakes on a Plane is certainly destined to be a cult classic.

How often do you get to see a man use a snake as a whip, or shoot a snake in the face?

He was also in that f*cked up shark movie where the sharks got smart and destroyed the underwater science lab. LL Cool J was in the one as well. Oh yeah, Samuel L. got eaten not even half way through the flick.

See, that's the thing. I'm always up for a good cult classic, but it's just no fun when this many people know about it so early. It ruins the fun of it for me...

I saw the movie when it first came out and it was awesome. It definatly doesn't take itself seriously and its supposed to be funny and somewhat stupid. But that's whats great about it. It has some of the best quotes that I've ever heard in a movie. And its the first movie I think I've ever seen where people in the theater where cheering and yelling and clapping.

I don't know about ever either. Has anyone ever seen Killer Clowns From Outer Space? Now that is one stupid movie.

Killer Klowns was uproarious!

Anyone ever see a straight-to-video classic called The Road Killers? Great cult B-movie. Not really funny, just low-budget creepy. I thought it was great, I couldn't believe what I was watching.

This movie was destined to be successful. As some have already said, how many guys are gonna pass up seeing a movie called "Snakes on a Plane"? Sounds good enough to me. And the hype it got before it opened was so big that I heard they didn't even do a test screening. It's the first time a movie has opened on the big screen without an audience testing in a long time from what I understand. They new it would be an instant cult classic. I still haven't made it to see it yet, but I plan on it for sure.
