For kick returner will most likely be Tab Perry. (((IMO))) Punt returner will probably be Antonio Chapman or Keiwan Ratliff.

Ratliff admitted so much as to sitting back on his laurels last year and not working hard. I think that has changed this year and we will see a different Ratliff in mini-camp in June and training camp.

My bet is that Ratliff will step up and keep the job, Chatman will get cut in training camp cause he gets beat out on punt returns and the rookie WRs.

Although I could be wrong.

I'm not sure, but I thought I recently read the PR job is going to be open competition this year. I even think Deltha was in the mix. With what Tab Perry did last year I think he gets to keep his job returing kickoffs, and Chatman was brought in for this very reason while beign pretty successful last year in GB, so I'll take him.

If that's true about ratliff, then he f**ked up major cause now he has a first round CB to fight with over PT

Tab will be kickreturner IMO till he is a #3 WR :P thats if he earns it and I think he will

Punt returner I say its toss up between Reggie McNeal and chapmen...Keiwan if he worked his ass off I dunno what happened to him last season I remember his PR vs browns where hes like swinging at a guy fighting for extra yards his avg this year was what 0? because he always fair catched it

PS,thats if reggie wants do PR's I think he could be stud if he did

bengals avg'd a league worse 5.6 yards a punt return with a whopping 13 yard long. Anyone is an upgrade over ratliff. and id say tab on kick, antonio on punt. mcneal worries me on returns...converted qb...id be worried about fumbling problems more than anything.

he also had 12+ his rookie season his problem last season was not trying because he was given the job...chatman is decent he has had career avg 8.2? which ratliff had 8.1 I say let who ever wants try out for PR to do so and then best returner get the spot.

should be intresting fight though brazell only chance making the team is through PR's mccneal could give it a shot terrance whitehead probbley only chance beat out watson would be returner stand out

ratliff is never gonna return punts ever again his is just woefull at it will be tab on KR and the experienced chatman on PR

Ratliff was a major upgrade at PR for us last year. We didn't fumble the ball away!

He was the PR the previous season also, wasnt he?

He was an upgrade when he took over PR. Are you so new a bandwagon fan that you weren't around for the regularly scheduled muffed punt returns?

Good point, I'd also love to see those return averages adjusted to subtract all clipping/holding penalties. Maybe if Ratliff just goes straight forward 5 yards and gets tackled, his teammates have less time to get flagged, and he has less time to fumble?

I Don't get why people are so high on chatman 8.5 last year thats not even top 20 7.7 year before and 8.4 the year before that,He's a upgrade vs rats play last year but he was playing too secure

"scatches head" I like the guy because hes cool with CJ & TJ but I really dont get why people are so high on him

cuz he has the "it" factor for a punt returner. he'll find the endzone atleast once next year if he does it, and will have a good return avg...and hes never had a problem with ball security.

Can't imagine there's any real team conversation to replace Tab as KR after the year he had. Just watching the Game of the Week on the Network of Cincy-Pitt # 2 and the returns Tab had just makes it seem no brained that he'll be running back kick offs.

Keiwan ain't it on punts, though. Looked like he was going to be later in 2004 but he was stuck in slow gear all of last year, just god awful. Sure-handed is great and all but the Bengals need a better threat. Chatman might be that but as the most likely #3 WR, I'd rather see him not return punts if Reggie McNeal shows he can do it in the preseason. That'll be McNeal's best shot to stick any way, so he better be able to turn on the Randle-El jets quick.
