Stripes Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 We need to trade him as soon as possible while he still has value, and get another worthy pitcher in the rotation. He's on and off with his home-run power, and he is a liability in left field. He has usually had a nice on base percentage, but when the only reason that is the case is walks, he is a terrible cleanup hitter. He sucks with runners in scoring position, and everybody knows about his striking out. There is a problem when I am more confident having Ray Olmedo at the plate than the assigned 4th hitter in the lineup. Quote
skyline Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 My initial response to this post was, "anything to help our pitching is fine by me". But then I thought about the past two games where Claussen and Williams have pitched excellent games, and we still lose them both. We were almost hitless against a guy who's had a pretty rough season, and yesterday we only manage 1 run? Crazy... Quote
ArmyBengal Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Yeah, who would have thought the pitching would be solid and we not be able to put runs on the board ?? Crazy indeed !!!WHODEY !!! Quote
redsbengalsbucks Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Join the clubDunn would make a perfect DH Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 I can't remember where I read it, maybe on here, but I recently read something stating how Dunn's strikeout's weren't that important because when he struckout it didn't hurt the Reds that much. I'll see if I can dig it up. Quote
da boss Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 I would love to see us trade Adam Dunn to the Tigers for Jeremy Bonderman, or to Baltimore for Daniel Cabrera. Quote
CBin2k7 Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 His K's may not hurt that much, but his .175 BA with RISP is terrible, and hurts alot. Quote
cincy9275 Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 i agree we should trade him but not for a couple of scrubs. a good starter or a couple of good relievers anything less i would just rather keep him Quote
jditty47 Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 his 227 batting avg is terrible. ya his K's are usually when no one is on and hes swinging for the fences - same time he hits his homers - no one on. but the man cannot keep a rally going to save his life. i wouldnt mind trading him for a good pitcher...casey leaving didnt hurt us much - probably helped, same probably with dunn. ArmyBengal Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Yep, as much as I enjoy seeing him absolutely CRUSH the ball when he does connect, I would give him up for pitching without much thought. You can't count on him to just put the ball in play when you need him to. Kind of an all or nothing sort of deal with Dunn...WHODEY !!! Quote
Dan2330 Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 After he bailed the Red's out again last night with his walk off slam do you still wanna trade him? No way the Reds move his power now that they are in the playoff hunt. They will have to move someone else (who the hell knows who) to get pitching... Quote
jditty47 Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 ya but is he finally gonna start being a reliable hitter? Quote
