Kazkal
I know he's older but which player on the current roster deserving of a superbowl ring with a bengal logo then him O_o,though I know why his days are looking numbered as a bengal even though he's still top of his game, but if we did sign him 4-5 years who knows if he'll still have a A game in 2years =/

bengalboomer7
I don't think we will, and you know what, I think it's Willie's fault. He overvalues the hell out of himself and wants LT money like Ogden and walter Jones. Sorry, Willie, ain't gonna happen. And please, don't bring up the rings. If he wanted a ring bad enough he'd consider taking the hometown discount. Who turns down a three year 20 mill deal? Willie Anderson does.I think the writing's already on the wall on this one. The_Next_Big_Thing
Some of you Willie Wishers are complete and total nincompoops and hypocrits! You fault Mike Brown for not fielding a winning team for years, and the main reason he did such a bad job was that he never let guys who expected to be overpaid or who underperformed go. He kept people past his prime, and didn't look to upgrade or make horizontal moves through the draft. Well, now he is. If Big Willie wants Big Dollars, at the end of his career and isn't willing to take a REASONABLE paycheck to retire with the Bengals, then it's HIS decision to end up leaving. princeton
until one of the other two signs, Willie's very much in play. IMO Bengals will sign the first guy that says yes to something lucrative but reasonable, even if it's the guy with a bad knee. After one guy signs, somebody else either gets signed or transitioned. The third leaves.no doubt the three agents are conspiring to hold firm against a home town discount, but Willie might be the least marketable due to age/likelihood of injury

Says a bunch to me on if he's willing to take a smaller paycheck to stay in Cincinnati.
DontPushMe
Remember when someone asked him about moving to LT and he said only if they pay me an extra mill? Hes made it clear that money is more important than the team to him.Im not faulting him for that btw, thats what it would be about for me if i were an NFL player too. Sox
It was 3 years $13 million.http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=5207I don't believe Willie even gave back a counter offer.

The third leaves. In my opinion Willie isn't in play anymore. I think the final decision regarding his future in Bengal stripes was made when he turned down the Bengals last offer to extend, and the final nail was driven when Andrew Whitworth was drafted in the 2nd round. And yes I've read the Bengals statements about how Whitworth could play at any of the positions that might be vacated by free agency, but in my opinion those statements were made in an attempt to gain bargaining leverage with Levi Jones and Eric Steinbach. BoltonBA
The Whitworth pick was for two obvious reasons: He's one hell of an athlete and they can't possibly afford Steinbach, Jones, and Anderson. He's versatile and allows them some levrage over negotiations for the two they decide to keep. Thanks for the years Willie but your older, more prone to injury, and it's just too much money for a team who now has other options. I'de like to see him back, he's a great player and has been extremely loyal, but I just can't see it as a possiblity.

cincy9275
big willie to me all about the all mighty dollar. he has made that clear. if it comes down to over paying him and possibly losing steinbach or levi then willie has to go . andybren
You know, if/when Willie leaves we'll get at least 1 compensatory pick from the league, on account of losing a ProBowl player. Probably wouldn't get that with Levi or Steinbach leaving.
whodey_88
funny how big willie forgets the bengals made him the highest paid lineman in the league when he signed the contract he's playing with now.... he's not getting the big one this time, and if its really all about winning to him, he would stay....
