The_Next_Big_Thing Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Why would he? He's a great coach. Not every coach has even PLAYED the game before... Quote
DC_Bengals_Fan Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Why would he? He's a great coach. Not every coach has even PLAYED the game before...Oh come on. I'm pretty sure no player has ever said "You know, I could play in the NFL. But I'd rather be a positional coach here at the alma mater."I'd say the reason he didn't play in the NFL: He wasn't good enough. No shame in that. Quote

However, his coach at Idaho State said he would have been a great pro linebacker IF he was 4 inches taller and 40 lbs heavier. Apparently, he just couldn't compensate enough with smarts to overcome his relative lack of speed as a safety. Quote
