BlainThePain
http://www.nfl.com/draft/analysis/individual_workouts#michAvant (6-0½, 209) twice ran the 40 in 4.80 seconds. He had a cast on his hand, which probably impeded his performance, and he will run again in the near future. He also ran the short shuttle in 4.19 and the three-cone drill in 7.02. In addition, he had a 35½-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-4 broad jump. March 31 update: Cincinnati head coach Marvin Lewis and representatives from nine other teams watched Avant run two 40s in 4.65 and 4.69 indoors on FieldTurf. DesperateDerelict
No way! Why not a "Slash" QB - WR hybrid like Robinson from Penn St. 6'02" 220 lbs 4.38 AND smart - There a couple of very good football players in this draft that have experience in the wrong position. There are TE's that run faster than Avant.

bengalboomer7
A WR as slow as him is useless. I never realized he was THAT SLOW. I too am looking for at least a WR/KR/Pr kind of guy.

Chad Johnson only ran like a 4.54 at the combine and, as I remember, Housh's was horrible.
ArmyBengal
Ok, sure I'll go out on that limb... As much as I hate Michigan and as much as I don't think we need another WR, I like Avant. He won't spread the field, but I see him as a HUGE slot receiver in the middle of the field or in the red zone. The guy can run good routes and has outstanding hands. He will make some team very happy in my opinion.WHODEY !!!
