redsbengalsbucks
Hey, I'll take alone in first even if it is for just a little while.I'm impressed with the starting pitching so far, but I think they need to bring up a prospect for the bullpen and let Cris Hammond go down to the minors for awhile and get his stuff back.Harang gets a 7 inning shutout and the only rbi in the game, way to go. bengalindian
This is how it always is (at the beginning of the season), so I'm expecting the starting pitching to struggle, and since the bullpen can't really do any worse....However, I am very impressed by the starting pitching, because it is phenomenal. I expect the Reds to finish 4th, or maybe even 3rd, if they can make the bullpen stronger somehow.P.S. Last night's game was amazing all the way around. Harang was awesome, Jerry Narron made all the right moves, Todd Coffey pitched like Eric Gagne, and David Weathers was sweet, and the Reds Defense didn't blow it either! Go Reds! ArmyBengal
It's one of those take it while you got it kind of things... Do I see it lasting ?? No, but it sure would be nice to see this go on until after the All-Star break !!!WHODEY !!!
ArmyBengal
Oh well, that didn't last near as long as I would have liked !!!WHODEY !!!
Stripes
I'm surprised we still have a winning record. We've given up the 3rd most runs in the majors. Same old same old.
Whur CHad At?
Cardinals will be back up there within a matter of days...so much for Pujols struggling, eh?
CBin2k7
If the starters don't pitch at least to the sixth inning and do it reasonably well, this team has no chance. The bullpen is absolutely terrible, only 1 pitcher is performing down there and that is Todd Coffey. Can they not run out Weathers any more to close games, let the young guy do it, see what you have.Sorry boys, but Narron is sealing his fate, he is already not Castellini's guy, and with the Lou wants to get back into coaching next year, anything short of a playoff run mean Narron won't be back next year. redsbengalsbucks
What a run to get back to first! This year maybe something special, if they go out and shore up the bullpen.

jditty47
we'll see. im still not buying the hype. they arent playing solid enough to make the playoffs at this point, lets hope they continue to improve and have a shot.
Stripes
There might be a chance we make a move for another bullpen guy before the trade deadline. That'd be a huge boost.Anyone that watched the game on FSN last night, did you see the inning where they had Castellini in there with George and Chris? He sounds like an owner that really cares what happens with this baseball team.

He sounds like an owner that really cares what happens with this baseball team.I think his actions have already proven that he really cares what happens to the team. Aquiring Bronson Arroyo for power hitting and then dumping Dave Williams because he can't find the strike zone tells me he is concerned about getting a team that can win now! If the pitching holds up in August and September, they just may make the playoffs for the first time in so long I can't remember. GO CINCY!!!! ArmyBengal
You have to love this !!! Last year at this time, we were 15 games out of first. It may not last, but once again, I'll take it for the time being and just enjoy the winning streak !!!WHODEY !!!
