Eric Milton 2-0

Eric Milton is now 2-0 with a ERA of 2.63 after his first two starts. He has given up one home run in each of those two starts, but otherwise has been very impressive. I know that two starts is rarely a good indicator of how a pitcher will perform through a full season, but a good start is a good start. Last year, Sidney Ponson was coming off the worst season of his career, but finished 2005 with solid numbers. Anyone think Milton can pull it of as well?

As for the rest of the team, they committed two more errors today against the Cubs. Dunn, Lopez, and Kearns all belted homers and the Reds won 8-3. They are 6-3 now, but I can't see it lasting that way if the defense doesn't improve fast. Coffey and Mercker did pitch two solid innings out of the bullpen, and that was refreshing to see.

Man give the guy a break, last year was the first bad year he has really had. I think he will do alot better this year. It looks like he is off to a good start.
