HoTbOy
I also believe CHenry deserves another chance, but what he did was not right and if it would have been an ordinary joe he would have been in jail, but $ can get you out of mostly everything...look at OJ and RBlake, I for 1 was in the same boat at 23 as CHenry with a gun, i did 8 months in the Monroe County Jail...i have never seen a jail again, i have been at my job at Kodak for the past 16 years...and will never put myself in stupid situations like that again....i changed, so i believe CHenry can too, he has alot more to gain... WVUBengal
As I've always said, Henry is a good player but has had trouble, especially at WVU. I wish Henry the best since he's an WVU alum like me but at the same time I've been skeptical, but hopeful he would do well
derekshank
I personally could go either way. I work at a boys home, and a lot of the guys in there have similar child-hoods to Henry I'm guessing. Then they screwed up, and now have to suffer the consequences for their actions. Why should Henry be all that different? On the other hand... I doubt the only reason is the fact that he's a football player. Sometimes judges are unbelievable. Some of these guys are the last people we want on the street... They're just not ready yet, but for whatever reason, the judge believes that placement is no longer suitable for them... and they go home. Whether it is a financial issue, or what... I don't know... but there are plenty of guys not going to jail for doing things a lot worse than what Henry did. Trust me.So... Does Henry deserve to go to jail? Probably. Had any of us made poor choices similar to his, would we want one last chance to prove we aren't idiots? Probably. But when it comes right down to it... it's not my decision. If he doesn't serve any jail time, that's not my fault... and the Bengals are better with him on the field. If you have trouble pulling for a guy because of some of his issues... that's your right. But I'll be pulling for him, because he wears a uniform that says Bengals... not because it says Henry. As long as he doesn't hurt the team (and hopefully he'll be able to become a productive citizen) I'll be rooting for him to score everytime he's on the field. Bobcat Bengal
Whatever.I know if my black ass pulled a gun on a cop, I'd be underneath the jail.I guess it's alright for Henry since he can catch the deep ball.
bengalboomer7
Damn, since when did we get so many angels on this board. I suggest you all worry about the skeleton's in your own closet before you go ranting on someone for their mistakes. We are all human, and we all do stupid things from time to time. Now, let's talk about his trial, not his character.
cover2
For some of you guys that think he deserves a second chance...if you had a kid, and you asked him who his favorite Bengals was, and he said Chris Henry, then you asked him why...What would you do if your kid said "Cause he is a THUG! He doesn't take crap from anyone! He'll pull a piece on you in a minute!"or"Cause he is like Randy Moss...he gets down with the CHRONIC!"Some of you guys need to quit looking at this as a Bengal fan's perspective and more as a member of society. I don't care if the guy can score 20 TD's a year, if one of those people he pulled that gun on was my kid, I'd hope they threw the book at him harder than a Randy Johnson fastball. Wrong is wrong!A "mistake" is a kid shoplifting a pack of gum or trying weed cause his friends pressured him to do it. Carrying an unregistered loaded firearm loaded with armor peircing bullets and pointing it at a crowd of people is premeditated. That is NOT a mistake. After the Lawyers get him out of this hole with the absolute minimal sentence....think about what your kid would have been given.......if you got the bucks you can buy your way out and that's what is going to happen here.Henry will find trouble again....no doubt and btw how many children does he have and should he not be taking care of business at home or does his mom take care of it for him while he F.... OFF!

BengalPappaw
No question that Chris Henry screwed up! He is NOT the "sharpest crayon in the box". And I believe most of his problems are "not thinking it through".But, I don't believe that he deserves to be imprisoned or suspended more than 4 games. I believe in the "baseball rule" three strikes and you are OUT. Henry has two strikes now. I believe that Marvin has told Henry to not let anything happen again.I'd like to see Carson (offensive and Team leader) or Odell (defensive leader) take Henry under their wing and show him what is expect of him. If Chris does not respond well, then release him. But, I think you will see a kid (mentally) that is capable and eager to change his reputation. In the real world, I've had people like Henry working for me -- some get the message; others don't. I hope Chris Henry gets the message NOW!! andybren
I work in the criminal justice system and I've seen many cases like this. In fact, just yesterday I saw a similar situation where a young black kid with a previous felony conviction got 5 years of prison suspended, 45 days of jail (time served), 4 years of probation, and 30 days of Cal Trans (road work) for having a gun illegally. And the 5 years included 3 from a gang allegation. In other words, Chris Henry, with no prior felonies and no gang affiliation, could get a non-jail sentence and it wouldn't be unusual.Judges follow specific sentencing guidelines, and they also end up sentencing dozens of people each week, two factors that contribute to most people getting treated the same way. The only prejudice I've seen comes from money: in some situations, it benefits you to be able to afford bail. It may also benefit you from having a private attorney who will wear down a prosecutor's defenses and get you a better plea offer. Otherwise, you're not going to see the OJ effect on this level. Chris Henry won't be hiring jury advisors and he won't be buying new suits to wear to each day of his 6 month trial. On the non-judicial side of things, I want to take pride in my favorite team. I don't want to root for guys who I know are bad people. Hopefully Chris Henry will take this opportunity to turn his life around and show he's not a bad person. ArmyBengal
Well, when I'm at work, I have time in between the things I have to get done and I use that time to see what's going on with the Bengals. Then, if I get done with what I have to do, there's not "more to be done" I'm just finished with the day. That lends more time to get on here and see what's up. Then I come home and usually spend at least another 1/2 hour and usually on here a couple times a day over the weekend. Overall, I get a lot of time to do what I enjoy and that's keeping up with the Bengals as well as other sports and things. It works out pretty well !!!WHODEY !!!
