w8th
LenDale White fall all the way to the Steelers. After his awful showing at the USC Pro Day I saw where the SI mock draft had him falling all the way to the Jets at 29.
Stripes
His awful showing at the Pro Day could be a sign that he's not first round material. If that's the case, then I would encourage the Steelers to waste their pick on him.
Tasher
Do you think that some guys tank their workouts to slip to better teams lower in the 1st round? instead of say, going to the cardinals or say (in years past) the Bengals, or other sorry situations?Hmmm... Bobcat Bengal
Do you think that some guys tank their workouts to slip to better teams lower in the 1st round? At the expense of losing MILLIONS of dollars? They must of not scored very well on the Wonderlic with that line of reasoning.Playing in the NFL, or any professional sport is a privelege. These guys kill me trying to decide which team they want to play for. Stripes
Yeah I doubt that many players actually try to skew the results of their Combine or Pro Day perfomances. What if they tank TOO badly, and fall out of the first round, only to be picked up by the same crappy teams in the second? There's way too much margin for error there for any player to attempt it, not to mention the amount of money they could lose. I don't buy it. ArmyBengal
Yep, this is one team I don't want to see White go to !!! If you really think he would tank his workout and lose that kind of money, you're crazy !!! What happens if he gets injured and can't play more than a few years ??? I don't think that is a chance you take to play for a winner as a rookie coming out...WHODEY !!!
Tasher
More evidence for my line of thinking...http://nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/9357955"For all the public talk of Southern California running back LenDale White sliding in the draft, there also is just as much behind-the-scenes talk of him getting drafted just where many predicted. One team in the 20s recently encouraged White not to run before the draft so it can pounce on him with its selection in the first round. Another team in the mid-teens already has told White it plans on drafting him. Teams have questions about White's hamstring, which he initially hurt on a Cybex machine at the Combine, and then re-injured while running three weeks ago. But teams also know White's production, and no matter how much his reputation is sullied in the coming days, it still looks like White will be a first-round pick."
