BengalsMan3203
But... Lets say this happens...LaVarr signs with the Bengals.... Bengals move to the 3-4 base D.You have Justin and Sam on the Line... Who is the 3rd.You have Odell, Simmons, Arrington, Pollock, Miller, Johnson anyone else?Who is going to start?Odell and Simmions inside?Pollock and Arrington outside? derekshank
B. Robinson is a natural 3-4 DE... and Thornton could play that role too.The problem is that Adams has succeeded as a 4-3 DT, not a 3-4 NT. So we'd be going into the 3-4 with a guy who is older, and inexperienced at NT, and a whole big group of DE's that are too small to play DE in the 3-4, but not fast enough to play LB.It sounds like a terrible idea to me. We will stay a 4-3... even if we do sign Arrington (which we won't).

ArmyBengal
Boy these 3-4 conversations are getting old. I say we start a whole new category titled "Bengals 3-4 defense ideas" and let Spain be the moderator of that one category...How about we sign someone that can play at the positions needed to run a 3-4 more than one or two plays here or there and THEN discuss this. Oh yeah, still no sign of Arrington (not that it would matter)...WHODEY !!!
Sox
I think the signing of Adams pretty much ends the 3-4 vs 4-3 debate.

I say we sign LaVar, keep Polock at LB, along with Odell, Simmons, Landon and Caleb Miller, and go with a 1-6 defense with Sam Adams as the ENTIRE DEFENSIVE LINE since his ass covers all the gaps. ShulaSteakhouse
3-4 alignments would be:DT - Geathers or Thornton or Robinson/Adams/SmithOLB - Pollack, ArringtonMLB's - Simmons, Odell
