BTG Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 What can I expect frm Wily Mo Pena in Boston? I've never seen the guy play before. Quote
semiotter Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 Well as you can see who I like. We can be friendly rivals. So you can see limited defense ,alot of strikeouts and so really good power when he connects. So when you play the Birds I hope its more of the first 2 things I said to you and not the later. Have a good DAY....Go OS.................. Quote
BTG Posted March 31, 2006 Author Report Posted March 31, 2006 you can see limited defense ,alot of strikeouts and so really good power when he connects. So he's like a watered-down version of Manny...great. Is he INSANE as well? Quote
redsbengalsbucks Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 He has all five tools, but is inconsistent with all of them.Great person and some awesome power when he is hot. Quote
Stripes Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 Wily Mo will be a fan favorite in Boston very quickly, just as he was in Cincinnati. He does strike out too much, and doesn't draw many walks. Still, he has the potential, in my mind, to be a 40 home run capable hitter on a consistent basis if he can stay healthy. Many players that have seen him in batting practice say he hits the ball harder than anyone they've ever seen. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 Yep, the guy absolutely CRUSHES the ball !!! However, for everyone he knocks out, he will strike out just as many, if not more... Well... MORE !!!WHODEY !!! Quote
AGrizzlyBaer Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 he is like sadano from major league crushes the fast ball, by dies by the curve. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 He might lead your team in Strike outs if he plays a lot!He needs more time to develop Quote
CBin2k7 Posted April 1, 2006 Report Posted April 1, 2006 On one hand Wily Mo has to be happy that he is with David Ortiz and Manny, on the other, I can see him ready to explode because he is not going to be starting and playing every day. He has to be one of the worst outfielders in the league. He doesn't hustle and run balls out on an occasion. He strikes out too much. He will be good in the American League. Quote
