Mckracken
Just a thought how about we grab Lavar Arrington in free agency. take our 1st round pick in this year's draft and trade for John Abraham then our defense front four would be smith, thorton, pollock, abraham. And our linebackers would be arrington, thurman, simmons.Sounds good to me with a little tweaking at defense tackle that's a pretty good front seven!!! andybren
If we had Abraham, we wouldn't need to waste money on an over-priced, one-dimensional player like Arrington. Not to mention whether Mike Brown would pay for both of them.
ArmyBengal
And how much money do you think we have left over to sign these guys ?? Just a reminder, Arrington PAID (that's out of HIS pocket) 4 million to get out of his contract at Washington and Abraham is fixing to get P-A-I-D, PAID !!! This is not even a consideration in my thinking...WHODEY !!!
TecmoFever
I'm also wondering who plays inside if we have a front four of Abraham, Smith, Thornton, and Pollack. That's an average of about 270 pounds on the D-Line. I'm sure we'd stand up well to the constant pounding of our divisional foes.Mods, please file this thread under "Dumb Ideas from Fans". Mckracken
They may avereage 270 pounds but they would be quicker and get in the backfield a lot easier the d-line that we had last year was over 270 pounds and was in the bottom third of the league in stopping the run!! If arrington is too much money maybe peterson would go for less! We need to do something because we haven't changed our D-line yet and I don't see much improvement on the horizon!!!! Here's hoping Nagata falls to the 24th pick!

The D wasn't in the bottom third in stopping the run because they were to heavy, they were there because (ARE YOU LISTENING MARVIN?) our D-line SUCKS monkeyballs !!! Picking up Arrington or Peterson (who will cost as much if not more) DOESN'T ADDRESS OUR PROBLEM. That is unless Arrington and Peterson can now play DT.Ngata falls to #24 when I grow a 2nd D*CK and make porn movies !!!WHODEY !!!

Apparently that deal has been in the making for a wile now, I'm not sure if it'll end up happening though. Last I heard, the Falcons want more for Schaub. Abraham doesn't have near the breakaway pass rush ability that the Planter's peanut has!!
