Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 Bengals | Griese will visit teamThu, 16 Mar 2006 18:52:16 -0800Geoff Hobson, of Bengals.com, reports free agent QB Brian Griese (Buccaneers) will meet with the Cincinnati Bengals for a visit and a physical on Friday, March 17.He says he is "intrigued by us" Quote
Spor_tees Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 Every Free Agent QB in the league is going to know what kind of shape Carson is in, and us fans don't hear squat. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted March 17, 2006 Author Report Posted March 17, 2006 I think Greise will be our back-up...why else would he be takin a physical also? Quote
Spor_tees Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 I think Greise will be our back-up...why else would he be takin a physical also?Because he is coming off knee surgery also and the Bengals don't need 2 QB's that they aren't sure can start til the 4th week of the season. Quote
jjakq27 Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 Back in the day, we passed him over in favor of Artrell. I wonder if Krenzel has his bag packed yet. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted March 17, 2006 Author Report Posted March 17, 2006 I hope Johnson has his bags packed...the guy is horrible! Quote

andybren Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 Assuming he's healthy, Griese is a good fit for us. Experienced, not too old, cheap. He may even think he has a chance to prove his worth as a starter to the rest of the league. And I don't think we'll be seeing Krenzel or Doug Johnson packing their bags until at least July. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 I like the idea of greasy at a good price. He's by far my most likeable option I've seen so far. At least in our price range...WHODEY !!! Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted March 18, 2006 Author Report Posted March 18, 2006 I think we could sign him to a 1 year $2 mill deal. But the Bengals never confirmed his visit, and he is headed to Chicago where he will prob end up. The Bengals will most likely end up holding out for the cheapest QB available, like they do with every other player. Quote
BengalChamps Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 There should be very little up front money for Greise if he comes. He has a hurt knee. We dont need to be saddled with two QB's with knee problems. We need to be able to cut him if he comes. Quote
