Spain
I agree Shula, we didnt make one fourth and one. Marvin doesnt count on draft picks anyway. Im suspecting we could go O-line. Gilles is multidimensional. With Wilie walking out the door. Stacey,Bach,Jones,Gillis, Sounds good. We didnt make one fourth and one. Bobbie Williams aint all that, Neither is JJ. Bernstein is a gaurd in space. You throw in A te like pope in the second you have one hell of a draft. Go FAs on D.
kingwilly
I don't see any issue signing Levi or Steiny, now....Willie may not get extended...especially if Andrews can progress.that leaves, Guichiuc, Kieft, Wilkerson, Kooistra, Loughheed, Moore, Takavitz, Vieria and Williams as the core of the roster...I just don't see the need for making an early grab for Gilles when we have this kind of depth and potential...and are faced with BIG HOLES ON DEFENSE!!!!!! ...holy hell. TJJackson
The issue I see is with LeviHe will be wanting elite LT money, and we won't be willing to spend quite that much, particularly with our depth. We are much better set at RT, where Kooistra looks good and Andrews is behind him. We are prepared for Big Willie's departure, but not for Levi'sErgo, Jon Scott is on the radar.....
kingwilly
Jon Scott may be a nice option in the draft. When Willie wanted the ca$h, cincy ponied up...I have to believe they will act in their best interest (pay Levi big) to protect "Golden boy", as LT is just about the most important position to the passing game of a right handed QB.Now, with the thought of Levi getting the huge chunk of ca$h he will so richly deserve, that begs the question of who will NOT be showed the money...my guess is the savings will come in the form of a guy like TJ ending up with some naggin injury holding him back and hurting his chances of seeing the rich back-end of his current contract. ArmyBengal
I can't see the O-line being addressed at all on day one. As stated, the defense is a few players away and that is the direction I want to see them go. If there is any offense taken on day one, I see it being a TE only, unless we trade down to pick up another day one pick. DE-FENSE DE-FENSE !!!WHODEY !!! andybren
Go FAs on D.We're talking about the Bengals, right? The team with Marvin Lewis as their coach? Marvin's not going to sign a big dollar defensive FA. And another round of Hardy's and Herring's is not going to take us to the Super Bowl. Marvin's M.O. has been very easy to follow:First round - impact players with the potential to change the outcome of games, regardless of their position. Not necessarily the "BPA" in the way that Spain uses the termSecond and third rounds - smart, athletic defenders with potential to be long-term starters; OR, impact players who become bargains when they dropFourth and fifth rounds - journeymen types in non-skilled positions (linemen, backup LB's)Sixth and seventh rounds - special team skill players with potential to work their way onto the first team (TJ, Tab)Certainly there are exceptions to this pattern, but I don't see any reason to think Spain's current obsessions will give Marvin a reason to change direction.
