BoilersAndBengals
DUNEDIN -- Eric Milton's spring training debut is over after two-thirds of an inning. With a runner on second and two out in the first, Curtis Thigpen popped one down the right-field line. After a long run into foul territory, Austin Kearns reached the ball but couldn't get a hold of it, and it fell foul. When I looked back toward the field, I saw Milton standing along the third-base line and Narron and Tom Hume coming out of the dugout to talk with him. After some discussion, Milton was removed from the game in favor of Chris Michalak, who inherited a 3-2 count and threw one strike to escape the inning. Looks like Milton might have aggravated that calf strain.Milton threw 33 pitches, 20 of them strikes. He allowed four runs on four hits and one walk. Not what he or the Reds were looking for today. Stripes
He and Dave Williams are poised for some great years after these starts! Meh, he'll be alright I guess. Things are looking grim for the 2006 Reds, but that's not a surprise to anyone.
rwalling
Finally something good happens to the Reds. This is a classic casae of addition by substraction. My fondest wish is that Gosling or Belisle steps up while Uncle Miltie is on the DL and makes it easy for Mr. Fruit and Krivsky to cut Milton. Yes I know it's 27M over three years. What is knowing your team is going to suck once every five games worth?

buck3y3d
I judged him by his whole career: still sucks. He is the worse signing of the decade. You take a pitcher that gives up a ton of home runs and puts him in the smallest ball park. Good thinking danny boy.

I think that he will eventually lose his job to either Mike Gosling os Justin Germano. Hopefully Homer Bailey will at least be in AAA before the season is over. Whur CHad At?
He should put on quite a show this year. It will be fun watching other teams dinging out his pitches! I still think he should pitch the Home RUn Derby...
Stripes
Eric Milton should be considered an illegal supplement for opposing batters. In all seriousness, I have actually been a semi-supporter of Milton this offseason... Last year Sidney Ponson came back from a terrible first year with his club to pitch very well... Milton will get another chance, but if he ends up blowing a** again, forget about him.
